BLAH why are they doing this to me in the middle of such an awesome arc.

Maybe, since they're going into 4 specials in the middle of this awesome arc that the movie will be awesome, and they just want to build into its awesomeness. I hope. Otherwise I'm bored for the next 3-4 weeks.

Yeah but some people live in New Zealand and not Japan, and wont get to see that movie until the DVD release and when it's been subbed. Which makes these 4 episodes boring and pointless.
