Been watching Macross Frontier & I have to say it's not bad at all in my opinion. My top favorite Macross will always be Macross Plus, which is as far as I've gotten, about half way, I wish there had been more nods to Plus, but I still dig all the nods to past Macross sagas. I got a big grin when the students had hands in the air planing their flight routine just is as Isamu did.

Just wish that Sharron Apple would have at least had a passing mention.

Anyway, half way there & digging it.

I really liked it.

There was another good nod to Plus in episode 25 that made me swoon. It was during the final battle. Luca disengaged the A.I. limiters on his 3 Ghost drones in order to counter enemy's V-9 Ghost attack drones, giving them "the strength that once trapped Macross City in fear", referring to when Sharon Apple took over the Ghost X-9 prototype & Macross City itself.
