Well, I'm another year older and thinking about the meaning of life, where I've been, and where I'm going. Things aren't perfect, and I usually gripe about my lot in life, especially my job which I occasionally despise, but after hearing about the earthquake that devastated Haiti and its people yesterday, I realize that I have it pretty darn good.

Alright, this pisses me off.

I'm watching the early morning news right now, and a woman holding her granddaughter was hit by a car. They're in serious condition right now. The car was found nearby, both the driver and passenger got out and ran away. I hate this kind of sick ****.

I've learned that here in Arizona whenever somebody gets hit by a car or there's a car accident and the people in the car get out and run away, 99.9% of the time they are illegals who don't want to get deported.

I got hit by a car and tossed and lived though. Got right back up actually, felt like I fell off of a bike, no broken bones either. But that night my leg swelled up to look like I had a compound fracture, it was nasty.

But if this guy was my age he would have gotten back up, ripped the door off of the van and hit the lady with it and send her flying like the door was the home run bat in SSB.

The real hell of it is that people in Haiti usually worry more about hurricanes and tropical storms. The absolute last thing they expected was an earthquake since the last one hit 200 years ago. Well, I plan to donate some money to the Red Cross to help with relief efforts.

Well, if cursing is going to give me infractions, then I just won't curse anymore. I just figured that as long as I wasn't 'bypassing the censor', then I was fine. It's good practice anyways to lower my levels (if even only online).

I'm honestly surprised that the d-word, sh-word, and b-word (5 letters) aren't covered by the censor, even if they're more 'soft-core' or less offensive. To many parents, ANY curse word is offensive.

But if we were gonna go around and make this a more friendly family forum (which I'd be okay with... would make the place a lot less interesting, but that's the breaks - you'll just need to remove every off-topic thread that's about offensive, non-family friendly stuff), I'd prefer if the Hentai forum were removed, 'cause I think that's a bigger issue than just *'s on the screen. Ken... you haven't shortened your life that much by not eating enough fruit. You drink heavy? Smoke? Fat enough that you can't make it through doorways? Then you might have already done some serious damage, but even so you could still recover.

I know you're not really so fat that you can't make it through doorways, so don't get mad. Thing is, it's not too late to start eating more fruit and vegetables by age 22. It's not too late by age 30. You can still live a good long life, if you make at least some effort. Honestly I think you're overestimating the bad effects anyway, you haven't had enough time to really do damage. Unless you live on pork rinds, everclear and unfiltered cigarettes, or something. :P

Don't try to measure your life against the norm or what society think is the standard. We all tend to think about how we've lived our lives once in a while and sometimes we sell ourselves short because we look at others and compare it to our own. I know exactly how you feel: I've spent several years in the military and yet I feel that I've achieved nothing compared to my peers. Most of them have families, careers and a life outside of it. This year is a transitional year for me as Im about to checker flag out of the Corps. I have a plan on what I want to do and I do have plenty job offers. Give yourself a little bit more credit. If you decide that you want to get married and have a family before you are 30 then so be it. Make a plan. You can start by setting up smaller goals and work your way till you've reached your objective. Live your life to your own accord.

Now that I'm 22 I've been questioning my life. This can be seen as stupid because I'm 22, but I'm wondering how I've lived my life up until this point. I'm feeling that I've been wasting my life doing stupid things, not living my life enough and missing out on certain things. Not getting out enough, being too secluded, and not taking care of my health enough. I'm worried that because I haven't been eating the right foods, such as not enough fruit and such. Because my physical development has stopped and I've stopped growing, I'm worried that my life span has been shortened a lot, despite the fact that I have a very, very good immune system. I have 8 years until I'm 30, and I wonder if that's enough time to make up the experiences that I've been missing. Have a few more relationships, be able to get married by like 28 or something, have enough fun before age prevents me from doing so and before the "immature old guy" image sets in...things along all of these lines. Years are passing faster and faster, and I feel that I am running out of time. I have to start doing more things of almost all types, and very quickly. I can't believe how fast life has gone by. I'm going to have to make big changes in my life. But first I need to make a plan.

I'm with you on that one. Flowers are a damn ripoff. I remember how much I had to pay for one little wrist flower thing for prom. >_< My wallet was hurting.

The one problem I had with Senior Prom though is that they played almost nothing but rap all damn night. 3 songs were rock, that's it, and they weren't even really good. Me and a few other people were fuming over that.

Never went to my senior prom, mainly because no girl at school wanted anything to do with me. So I went to a Phillies game that night. Had more fun there too!

yes, yes and yes. The only thing the prom contributes to is image and that whole social hierarchy thing. I didn't even have any friends hardly in school and god knows I wasn't gonna go alone. Knowing me I wasn't gonna go period for it was in high school when I started to become more reclusive.

why did you waste your money for 3 years if you hated it so much. All I would need is one time and that would be convincing enough if I was put in a position where I HAD to at least give it a chance. Also I'm guessing you went to a private school maybe? Most normal schools only let you go in junior and senior year unless you go wit a senior or junior otherwise.

My brother went to private school and the proms at his school sucked more balls then a rabid hooker. Being that he was the exact opposite of me he just HAD to go ever year. The school was far and I was forced to go every time because my parents didn't wanna leave me home alone at night.

The school some of my cousins attend has actually implemented something like this. I don't think they call it a prom, but each year the graduating class have a formal dance event they attend, and it's not the only such event either. There are others for certain occasions. I wouldn't know details, I don't really pay a whole lot of attention.

The Prom is basically an easy way to ask some girl for sex as far as I was aware, I mean, you go as a couple, usually with like 5 or 6 other couples, in a Limo, then, as far as I know, you go back to a hotel after the dance get drunk, and have sex.

I've only been to one, Prom, and that's what pretty much everyone did at the one I went too, it had nothing to do with anything else....

Prom in the media isn't completely like it is IRL. The media isn't completely accurate. Teenage hormones make a lot of drama. So much drama that a girl got mad at my younger sister and stuck a used condom in our mailbox.

However for me there was no drinking or sex involved. No sex because I went with a friend, and no drinking because my parents would have killed me if I did and they found out. I chose not to take the risk.

Surprisingly though not one person at my prom got pregnant that night, which doesn't make a lot of sense because in my school 1 person got pregnant per month. Once 3 people got pregnant in 2 months. Keep in mind that my school had under 1,000 people, so it was small. And STDs were everywhere.

This is the main thing he needs to avoid. Personally I like lister and I think he's a cool guy but he has a bit of an obsessive personality he needs to work on. The fact that he's always talking about events in his life and quoting random movies which both have nothing to do with the thread or what anyone is talking about really gives him away for me. And he always gives you way too much information than necessary about a subject, kinda like walt but not as seemingly innocent/ignorant.

I don't know if it was because of his alleged hacking. Then he created a dupe account and got himself perma-banned because that's what dupe accounts get ya.

Oh and just to be clear, his main misdeed as far as Prons and Mel were concerned was that he allegedly was "leading on" Alice Catherine to believe there could be a relationship between them in spite of the difference in their ages.

Honestly it's a whole lot of "he said, she said" and I don't entirely believe either story. I think that the sequence of events was likely much less clear than all that with a lot of poor judgement on both sides.

ok so I just emailed the communications manager of B&N that I will discontinue the anime club. They change communications manager like a flip coin and I can barely get in contact wit whoever the person is till a week before the conformation for the finalizing the date. Last week they tried to play slick and get me on wednesday to tell me the meeting could be scheduled for the next day but thats too last minute for me to even let people know.

I said next week(which is this week) would be better for me to let people know and the first thing monday I called the store to see if it was scheduled and noone knows a thing. I tried to call the communications manager, knowing they got long hours and would most likely be there and didn't get her ever after calling 3 times yesterday. Then I called earlier to see if there was anything and the people told me that they haven't heard from the owner yet, which means these fools don't even know squat. So then I sent an email to confirm that I would discontinue it because everyone seems to be outstandingly useless including her and she emails me back in less then 5 min probably and says she'll let the staff know and to take care.

Now how messed up is that, they were waiting for it I tell ya. Oh well hopefully my mom doesn't chastise me later after giving her the news.

So now my parents are going to see my brothers councilor who they now feel is useless due to the obvious signs that the counciling isn't really helping. That is true. If you look at what it took for the earth to create a system that could sustain intelligent life, and what it took for a civilization to come forth from that life, it's a miracle that we've come this far. A natural disaster here, an evolutionary misstep there, it would have all been over.

It can start out random, but what it produces could be controlled or not depending on what is given. There is no conscious mind in control of a meteor flying through space.

I was just thinking of the philosophy given from the movie "The Day The Earth Stood Still." The alien is pissed off because humans are too careless to take care of their planet. What I want to argue with the Alien is, did his own people come up with such stringent philosophies, or was that all because of a coincidental event on your planet that happened to evolve into something so asinine.

Same consequence for our planet Earth. Earth didn't ask for humans to be here, it just happened to support the right environment that caused us to form on Earth's surface coincidentally. What happens to Earth makes absolutely no difference to the universe whatsoever.

On a second note if the Alien wanted to preserve the Earth for the fact that it can sustain life. I would say, does it really matter? sure life is a rare entity in the universe, but a really minuscule percentage will say that life even exists to the universe as a beneficial system. If life disappears from earth, it's not our problem.

Why do I always have cray ****ing dreams?

Alright, I'm going to try and explain this with as much detail as I can remember. It's already a little fuzzy to me, but I [think] I remember the general gist.

It starts out with me, my two friends (Jake and Austin) and my girlfriend, Megan Fox. I know, great start, right? We decided to go hiking at a state park late at night (which makes so sense whatsoever, because state parks are closed at night;)). All was going well until we entered a swamp (wtf?). Suddenly we're being chased by some little bear creature (kinda looked like an Ewok (http://halloweenswimteam.files.wordpress.com/2009/07/ewok.jpg) from Star Wars). It chases us to their mothership that looked liked it was stuck halfway into the swamp, where we could see even more of these crazy looking Ewok bear things. The Ewok that was chasing us alerted the rest of them, and we start running for our lives in the opposite direction. As we're running back through the swamp, ewoks were swinging from vines and ****. Megan Fox pulls out a silenced pistol and headshots a few of them, and my friend Jake throws his pokeball and Venusaur emerges. We kept on running, letting Venusaur basically die. For some reason, I was perfectly okay with this. :lol:

We get back to the main entrance of the state park, and the Ewoks weren't pursuing us any more. We decided to live there. The next scene I remember is my friend Austin selling his boat (which somehow he brought with him) because he would no longer need it, and so we could live off the money made from it. Megan Fox and I have crazy sex in the lake, which makes no goddamn sense because:

1. We were in the middle of it
2. There's no way you can have sex in the middle of a lake without drowning.

Somehow, we did it though. It wasn't that normal sex, it was kind of angry/passionate sex. Alright, enough of that. A couple minutes later she tells me the condom broke, and then a few minutes after that she has a baby. I can't remember if it was male or female because Megan gave birth in the middle of a lake! At that point in my dream, I became a commentator, as if my dream were a film. I remember commenting "Wow, this is a perfect example of a movie that just doesn't end." Then I switched right back to first person view.

What happens next was a little weird. Megan cheats on me with some random dude that has no relation to this screwed up story. As they were making out in the hallway of our house(?), I was in the bathroom and had a great view of what was happening. Here's the messed up part: I was a towel with a smiley face on it. Picture towelie (http://www.globalpov.com/images/towelie.jpg) from South Park, but with no legs/hands and just sitting in the shower, staring at my girlfriend cheating on me with some dude I've never seen. Messed up.

Then I remember I had class the next morning, so I left Megan, our baby, and random dude at our house in the state park. For some reason Austin, myself, and Jake decided to smoke some Mary Jane on the walk back to our cars. Weird part about it was, that Austin actually stole my weed and we were smoking that. Again, I was okay with this.

The last scene I remember was driving back on the highway, getting off at the right exit, and going to a fast food drive through, where I got chicken, fries, and toast.

I woke and literally said "WTF just happened?"

I think my dream career would be a kiddie catcher, like the guy in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. I'm not particularly fond of children and it seems like an interesting vocation. I wonder if I could get an apprentice position. It wouldn't be too difficult I think. Just lure the children into the cage wagon and then drive off. Bring them in to collect the bounty. A man who does what we loves doesn't work a day in his life.
