And, well, it was very similar to this.

Ok, double post, but different day.
If I don't get back to work soon I'm gonna end up in a straitjacket . All I can do is sit around and do almost nothing. I just spent around 1000 dollars fixing my car yesterday morning because my tires were almost gone since I ended up running over a piece of debris that fell off of a truck that broke down and the parts were scattered, almost making my tire blow up because the steel belt was exposed and in strands on the edge, even though I needed new ones anyway. I needed an oil change, and I needed a transmission flush. Not to mention my battery was basically dead and I needed new brakes. I need to be making money again.
Nothing is on TV, infomercials are lasting longer and longer up until like 9:30 or 10:00 AM now. At least I have Nintendo Wii. But that's not going to be enough after a while.

I don't ignore anyone, because it doesn't work. If it worked properly, I'd ignore a few people. By that I mean if it didn't show you a notification that they had posted, or include their name on the forum index. Not too hard to code something like that up, but that's obviously not how they intended the function to work.
On the rare occasions where someone annoys me so much I can't stand reading their posts, I would rather just forget about their existence completely. Knowing they are posting, but I am not reading it, doesn't help.

I'd like to see your awesome collection of transformers. I used to collect GI Joe (80's type) and I left them all back at home. I have about over 100 figures and around 10 vehicles. Too bad there aren't any boxes for any of them since tey were primarily toys not for any kind of monetary investment.

Typically yes, but my favorite Megatron figure (this one in particular) doesn't transform, its from a toyline called Revoltech designed to be cartoon accurate and super poseable. If you look at the arms and legs, you can see the Revolver joints (hence the name Revoltech), which allow its poseability, but are part of the reason why it doesn't transform. Hard to do so when all the joints are on gigantic balls. The line also includes a ton of other series too, Macross, Eva, Gurren-Lagann, and others.

So basically they are the Action Figures of Transformers?
In essence, yes, though not of transformers, since they've only got 5 in their line up. I thought the idea was a bit stupid at first, in the case of the Transformers, but that quickly changed when I saw firstly how they looked, and secondly, how they posed. They aren't exactly cheap at about 15-25 a pop, but I think they're worth it.
Complete list of figures is on the wiki page

So basically they are the Action Figures of Transformers?
Only sort of. The Revoltech range of action figures is pretty diverse, they do all kinds of robots, and some human character action figures as well. If you look up Revoltech on Wikipedia you can see a complete list of all the figures that Kaiyodo have produced under the Revoltech brand, and not that many of them are Transformers. They just do whatever is cool, and will sell.
The original Transformers line by Takara and later Hasbro is where you find the best of classic and recent toys. If you were looking for things similar to Transformers but not part of the franchise, Takara have made lots of other transforming toys, including the Yuusha DX range, which includes toys from GaoGaiGar and the other Yuusha anime.
I'd agree with Mazinkaiser that the Revoltech figures are worth it, they look great and are amazingly posable thanks to the series namesake revolver technology joints.

Just so you know... any Gundam franchise mobile suits that can transform usually replicate the transformation pretty well if they have a Master Grade kit available. If there is only a High Grade kit, the transformation might be a bit less authentic though.

Thats disappointing :( I don't have any experience with the Masterpiece Megatron, but I would have thought that it would have been the end all of Megatrons.
I used it as my primary Mp3 player for a good while, and it's super bare bones, no screen interface, no internal memory, and sound quality is decent, but not great. I'd be upset if i had paid for an MP3 player. The transforming aspect made it more than worth it though :P

I've seen the Voltron figure in various stores, and they definitely looked nice, and were pretty reasonable price wise. I'm not sure about the different versions though, there's a version that's metal, and one thats plastic; I'm unsure as to which would be better. Normally I'd believe metal to be best, but i heard rumors that the joints couldn't take the weight.

It's still better than any other transforming G1 Megatron toy there is. They focused too much on the Alt mode though, meaning while the Gun looks EXACTLY like a (oversized) Walther P38... the robot mode suffers a bit for it. Mainly in the legs department.

Thats just being a gear queer right there.
thought of the day:
It depends on what type of environment you're gonna be fighting in: Close quarters you'd want to use an AIM point. But if you're planning to have some buffer zone or attacking from a farther distance, by all means use an EOtech or the Trijicon RCO/ACOG. Having both is on overkill and makes your weapon unbalanced IMO. I find it funny when airsoft players have all kinds of add ons to their weapons and attach a bunch of useless pouch/attachments to their tac gear. MAkes me think they played too much MW/Counterstrike.

I just put together a nativity scene for my Aunt. Putting it together involves using a screwdriver and that's beneath her. I just left all the figures for her to arrange because no matter where I put them she'll just rearrange them herself, even though she doesn't understand that the focus of the scene is dear lil' babby Jesus. She has one Magi staring at the sheep, another undressing the shepherd boy with his eyes and the third apparently enthralled by an interesting insect hovering around the donkey's rear end.

Actually I would say that article is somewhat accurate, not that that trickery works every time, but just look around you the next time you go to a restaurant, be observant of everything they try to sell you on the little brochure cards they have on every table, and the commercials that promote new items.
Everything in there is designed to grab your attention and tempt you into buying just a little bit more than you thought you were going to spend.
I see it every time I walk into Freindly's or Denny's
And sometimes people just spend without thinking about how much it will cost in the end. Some of them don't even care.

[The result of the study was] "[...] consumers really don't know what they want and can be manipulated by the way a choice is presented."
This is quite true. If you don't know what you want, you're more likely to be going towards a product which the seller assures you is the best deal, because you don't know any better.
So I wouldn't exactly say people are dumb as much as they don't apply critical thought. :P
Though to be sure, some situations can make it ambiguous to think clearly... I really wouldn't say being caught by something like that is a measure of one's intelligence, but rather one's experiences in dealing with similar ambiguity. As much as one can use the mind to parse information, it can also be your greatest enemy.

Do British kids ever say like "I'm going to seed rape you with some spotted dick?"
XD! Not that I've heard. It's not "seed rape" though, it is oil seed rape, like... rape (name of crop) from which you get seeds from which cooking oil can be extracted.

Oh and yes, I agree. Aimpoint and the EO tech is a bit too much. For that weapon, I'd just use an aimpoint instead.
Man I hate making mistakes, but that's not the M68 aimpoint in the pic. I posted earlier. Rather it's the aimpoint 3x magnifier that can be used with an EOTech.

iCantBelieveiGotOne...
MAkes me think they played too much MW/Counterstrike.
i'm having a look at the aimpoint website, and to me, the thing behind the EOtech looks likethe 3x Magnifier (http://www.aimpoint.com/products/aimpoint_product_lines/aimpoint_3xmag) rather than an actual Aimpoint sight. and from what i'm reading, it's just an optical magnifier.
i agree on the 2 optical sights though...

I do believe they got a 3x Mag with an Red dot reticle combination scope. To me that would make more sense.
@Sapper
Meh, I make mistakes all the time. So basically its a supplementary gear to the EOtech. Btw is EOtech authorized in your BN? We arent allowed to use them at my unit. Only RCO/ACOG.
@Nakey
yea unless you take a closer look, you cant make the distinction. There are so many optics being made nowadays that sometimes its confusing to tell what is what. If I ever owned an assault rifle, I'll stick with an EOTech.

Still, purdy, and if they ever let us own similar rifles here (yeah, right, in a country that's willing to censor their own Intarwebs??? (http://www.smh.com.au/technology/technology-news/internet-censorship-plan-gets-the-green-light-20091215-ktzc.html?autostart=1)), i'd have one too =3

Up to sixteen preset keys or macros can also be assigned to the side mounted joystick, effectivley making this a 34 button mouse.
All of which leads us to ask the question, why didn't it just weld a mouse to the bottom of a keyboard and have done with it?

I bet that is wrong, you can make macros in game all the time.
l0k1
December 18th, 2009, 04:18 AM
You can make macros ingame but they are limited to either a single cast, or an instant and then a cast, you can use things liek macro keyboards or mice to constantly click buttons for you making it hands free in practice, which is against the t&c's.
The same way multiboxing is allowed as long as each character is manually being controlled.

Valley girls, speak like...this you know? Like, everything is so totally awesome you know? And like, I don't wanna judge you know, but like, everything is so totally rad, and my dad is totally buying me that car I wanted like, for my birthday?

If I was rich and I had kids, they would not get that kind of stuff. They'd pay for their own damn car, they wouldn't get designer clothing, like $1000 jeans,<_< they'd have regular birthday parties. They'd get regular toys, they'd know the meaning of the word "No", and if they bragged about money, I'd cut them off and hardcore ground them for 3 months. They'd pay for their own college, unless it was Ivy League. They would not have a shitload of toys or a 50'' plasma in their room. I would raise them just like everybody else.
However I'm not having kids at all, so w/e.

Well, to me theres a fine line between being a grinch and being too soft. Like, I'd help with college ( knowing how hard it to pay for it being 18 ), but you can say no once in a while. Like, spoiling kids is fine, as long as its not a habit. Kids are dumb, they do things so that other people would like them over a lack of confidence. I've bragged about things, I've gotten expensive things, but I also had to pay and work and learn the meaning of a dollar. Fine balance. Moderation. Things that most Americans don't know a thing about.
