I'm not a numerologist in the mystical sense, but I do enjoy observing these unique number combinations, and there are only 3 more same-number dates before the next century begins. Obviously none of us will be around for that, so we'll have to make do with a handful of progressives like 11/12/13 and 12/13/14 (for those of us who list MM/DD/YY).
Maybe I'll go see Tim Burton's film to celebrate...
Other ways (http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/09/09/999.date/index.html) to celebrate

Just something amusing for those of us who tend to notice such things. Not a big deal really, but I caught myself noticing yesterday that today would be 09/09/09.

Yes, notable.
However, Portugal plays Hungary in 20 minutes and if they don't win, they've lost the very last hope of qualifying for the World Cup. This is the worst 09/09/09 ever. :crybaby:

Do people really believe that the world is going to end on 1/1/2012?
Seriously? Are you really that oblivious to what's around you? Does a Mayan Calender really predict the future? That calendar was man made if you haven't realized, and not everything man made is perfect.
Do I believe in the end of man kind? Sure, but on a specific date? A specific year? You are just anticipating far to great of chances or you are truly insane to make the assumption that all gears will implode on each other and life will just drop out of existence on this puny little planet at a time that is none the less predicted by human imagination.
When the planets do eventually align (which is a bunch of mythology in of itself) the most that will happen is we'll all take the effects of the tiny insignificant force known as gravity and move slightly closer to each other. Which will be so small you wouldn't even notice.
Besides there are many man made things that are planned to happen far after 2012, that we have not even thought of. Surely you can't expect one year to mean to end of everything.

^ lolwhut. Nobody even mentioned that. Good one though.
And the only reason this date kicks *** is because of Tim Burton's new movie. I gotta work soon, so I'm seeing it tomorrow :)

I'm anticipating that this will start something about 2012, so I started it early.

You can't anticipate something starting when you plan to start it yourself...
Anyway, ten year anniversary of the Dreamcast. I'm going to go play some Typing of the Dead. [/end thread]

Beatles Rockband is an atrocity that should never have been made. Whoever thought of that should be shot.

Pfft! Chill out! I think it's cool! Probably won't be long before The Rolling Stones hop on that bandwagon.

Guh, the Beatles remasters and Rock Band, all really annoying.
You know there was Beatles Rock Band DLC available on Xbox yesterday when I looked? They just released the game that costs a damn fortune, then have the gall to let people get home and think "oh, should I spend an extra 160 MS points ($2) on one more song?" That's really milking the fans.
Sometimes I think it's really immoral for someone to make a ton of money out of work they did in the 1960s today. Like, do something new, will you? Pull your finger out and earn your money by working every day like the rest of us!
At 09/09/09 09:09:09am I was sitting in a bus feeling crappy and being late for work. How about you?

I was sleeping after pulling a fitful all-nighter fighting douchebag Wikipedia admins. I wanted food, but then I had to prep for a big surprise I have in store for the video game board later today.

I was at work, sticking new price tags on over older price tags... It's going to be really depressing if I'm doing the same thing at 10:10:10 on 10/10/10, but that's probably going to be the case.

Instead of complaining, do something about it. Not complicated, just go.

No mention of psycho Bolivian dude hijacking a plane in Mexico City on that date with a juice can (claiming it was a bomb) and the aid of 3 hijackers (just that he never told the passengers who .. or what the 3 hijackers were)...
Fail.
