Woman beaten to death at China Wal-Mart: police (http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/article/ALeqM5jUcqst3ZW9cVVaQV7XKG3y8SYSIg)
BEIJING — A woman in eastern China was allegedly beaten to death by five employees of a Wal-Mart store who accused her of shoplifting, a police report and state media said Tuesday.
Police have arrested two employees from the store in Jiangxi province, while three others are being investigated, Jingdezhen city police said in a report on their website.
According to the report, the woman was beaten outside her home near the Wal-Mart on August 30 and died in a city hospital on Wednesday last week from injuries suffered during the beating.
Police said the five Wal-Mart employees had stopped the woman in the street and demanded to see her receipt, but she refused because she could not verify their identities, it said.
Following an argument, the five Wal-Mart employees began beating her, it said.
The English-language China Daily on Tuesday identified the victim as Yu Xiaochun, 37.
"They started to hit her because she didn't do what they said," the paper quoted her husband Chen Baolin as saying.
"I got there and tried to stop them but they kept beating her."
It was not immediately known if the woman had shoplifted, the paper said.
The beating intensified as she tried to telephone for help using her mobile phone, it added.
In a statement, Wal-Mart said it was "fully cooperating with the relevant authorities and will release further details as it is appropriate".
"We extend our condolences to the family of the deceased.... The incident and cause of death is the subject of an investigation."

You know, they probably are less progressive and don't let their hambeast out of their pens to ride carts, purchase large quantities Twinkies, Ruffles, Jimmy Dean sausage, and Fanta, or test the breaking point of lycra like we do here.

When I was in Nigeria if a theif was caught everyone in the neighborhood grabbed their broom stick and wailed on the guy. Once they had a thief who made the mistake of pulling a gun on and injuring someone. They stacked tires around him and burned him alive. The moral of the story is third worlders have a lot more to lose than us affluent bourgeois, as such they will exact 50 eyes and 500 teeth for every eye or tooth lost.

Oh yeah, no doubt these things happen in **** countries. Reminds me of when the Yazidis in northern Iraq stoned to death a teenage girl for being in a relationship with a Sunni Muslim boy. And ratted out by her own relatives no less.
Where in Eastern China did this incident happen though? If it was in Beijing, then this even going down the way it did would surprise me at least a little bit. I'd expect this kinda thing to happen in Northwestern China or some rural province.

Guaranteed I try to avoid it at all coasts actually, I have no need to shop at a place like Walmart, espesially when I'm more acustomed to various chain retail establishments.
Like Best Buy: for my electronic needs
New Bary Comics: for music especially (they have a lot of nerdy Star Wars and WoW figurines for sale there too, the Comic Book Junkies dream shop)
Hot Topic, and Pac Sun, or even Kohls: for cloths, (You wont find that awesome Star Wars band T-shirt at WalMart, I happened to stumble upon it at Kohls.)
Guitar Center: you can guess what I go there to buy.
the local Price Chopper/Big Y/Shaws that are spewed across the neighborhood like every 5 miles: a Man's got to eat something.
and of cource the small one stop shop convenience stores like Walgreens(of which I work for)
I have no need to shop in a cluster **** like Walmart, Kmart is the same deal.
Target has a better electronics department then any of the 3 and they're attached to a mall near me.
so I supose We don't all shop at this hellish place you call Walmart.
I get my daily exorcise walking through each store, and I make good money so gas isn't an issue.

Wal Mart is stupid? That's why Wal Mart has more money than both Wal Greens and Target.

Walgreens is a Pharmacy that is pure 100% American (with some stores in Porto-Rico), WalMart is a multipurpose conglomeration that is globally fed.
And not Rich? I possibly make more money than the people who work in retail at Walmart, and to the people who work Distribution about just as much if not a little less from just starting.
If you want to talk about being rich, you're going to have to speak with the heads of corporation, Walmart might make more globally but that doesn't mean they're employees make more or less than any other company.
I didn't say I was rich either :P but I see what you did there.
And as for my Parents house, I make enough to support myself, apartment is free with benefits, so why should I move?
I'll give it a couple years till I make a little more out of experience and work time. Why rush out into the big wide world?
Also Profit sharing with Walgreens isn't really that bad of a move, they don't offer 401k, but Profit sharing is just as good.

I spend more time actually working than using my PC for entertainment, that and my Guitar is a higher priority.
I am not fat, I might have glasses from sitting too close to the TV when I was younger, but rest assured I get more exorcise than you, possibly, as I work daily in a warehouse lifting heavy boxes and walking 4 miles a day inside the facility.
Oh I get it, Mikosage was the police officer who pulled me over for suspicion of possessing drugs. To his dismay and searching through my dirty old grama-wagon, he found no such thing and left me with a warning to fix my light.
You were pissed off too, becuase you had to call your squad to search me and you still walked away with nothing but a warning.
Later that evening I pull out a plastic baggy I stashed under the front hood of my car which only contains chalk dust, in which you had forgotten to check.
