What do you think the Pirate King ability/power was?

Well, it was said that he was Whitebeard's equal (or rather, Whitebeard was Gol D's equal), and that was back when Whitebeard was in his prime. I actually don't like the idea of Gol D. Rogers having a Devil Fruit. I prefer to think of the man in a similar way to Mihawk. He was so incredibly powerful that he didn't NEED a Devil Fruit.

Well, then shouldn't that show you how much of a badass Gol D. was. It was directly stated by Buggy that Whitebeard and Roger fought to a draw, which definately means that despite Whitebeard's incredible powers and strength, the two were still equals even at Whitebeard's prime.

I actually think we are never gonna find out what is power was. Makes him more mysterious...this story is about Luffy, not Gol Roger. Although if we do find out, I suspect it will be in the volume zero he is releasing.

I know, he's badass, so much so that its probably best to not understand. Its just my opinion, and even though I want to know, knowing might make him less badass. To me leaving his powers, if any, should be kept a mystery of One Piece.

dude all of your idea's are lame... as you can see Gol D. Roger's power is a haoshoku haki im sure for that every youkai had that power and devil fruit like hell.. .In Gol D. Roger's crew there is no one with a DFU( Devil Fruit User ) i guess so..

What about Buggy? He was a DF user.

Also, I don't think it's confirmed that Gol had the master Haki, although it's very likely.

Im going to go ahead and say he didn't have a fruit but rather he was a master of the three forms of haki (im assuming he could use the king's haki). Probably had some degree of super strength as well sense he was Whitebeards equal and Ace has demonstrated it as well

He probably used haki since that seems to have been introduced to trump logia fruit users who were the top tier before that.

i think he was the best of all time to use haki thats why he could hear all things
with Coo haki
and he could counter WBs massive attacks with COa haki and he could fight a much bigger crews than his own because hi CoC was so strong he could take all out beside the best of the best even stronger than shanks did it in the WBs war.

I would guess that he was just really strong and used haki. No devil fruit power. That's my prediction.
