Dear freaking god.
Okay, it started out all right. The art style is a little different, but I'm okay with that.
As it got into the story, it didn't seem.. One Piece-ish.... to me at all. It reminded me more of Ghibli films, or the Girl Who Leapt Through Time. That part on the river where they were fighting those weird, Frog-old people especially.
The further I got into it the stranger it became. Sure it had some of the classic One Piece gags, eg the scene with Sanji and that other dude having the cook off. But overall it didn't seem right.
Then, the flower. Dear god the flower. That thing grew tentacles and grapped that little girl, it seemed like something from Akira, Evangelion, some disturbing hentai maybe, but NOT One Piece. I was thinking 'no, this cant happen. Chopper will save her and beat it' Chopper did save her, but then the damn thing ATE him.
It then proceeded to eat, quite graphically, all of Luffy's nakama. That grinning flower on the Baron's shoulder only made it creepier, with it's chewing and all. Seeing Zoro, Nami, Chopper et al absorbed into this thing, it was VERY disturbing.
Then Luffy blew up the giant stalk thing, and the little flower on the shoulder did it's transormation. Not since Urotsukidoji have I seen something in anime that distrubed me that much. The kind of zombie plant corpse forms of the crew... UGH. And when all those arrows struck Luffy and he was running around all hunched over, he didn't look much better.
In conclusion, that was probably the creepiest thing I've ever seen, especially considering just how much of a difference there was between this and the regular series/other movies I've seen.
