This is right up there with being smothered by elephant poo.

Man dies after falling into vat of chocolate (http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/275656)

A temporary factory worker in Camden County, NJ., has died as he slipped and fell into an eight-foot deep vat of melted chocolate.
The man is identified as 29-year old Vincent Smith II who was a temporary worker at the Cocoa Services Inc. plant. The incident occurred at 10 :30 am ET on Wednesday. Police are investigating into the cause of the incident.

According to his co-workers, Smith was loading raw chunks of chocolate into a melting tank when a blade used to mix the raw chocolate struck him causing him to fall into the boiling chocolate. Although his co-workers rushed to turn off the mixing machine and pulled him out of the chocolate vat, they couldn't save him.

Jason Laughlin, spokesman for the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, said:

We have launched an investigation into the incident, but at this point there’s no suggestion of foul play. It appears to be an accident.

Cocoa Services is privately owned company in New Jersey which melts down chocolate to send out to companies who make sweets and confectionery.

Damn. What a way to go.

Title reminds me of a cake at my local grocery store called Death by Chocolate. It's a chocolate pound cake smothered in chocolate then baked again in chocolate. Its chocolate to the 25th power and is just a dense mass of chocolate. One bite will give you diabetes.

I'm just wondering if he drowned to death, burned to death, or the mixer tore him apart. :|

The article doesn't make it all that clear.

I can't take credit for this one, but it must be said:

His passing was bittersweet.

There's gonna be a lot of lucky children getting Vincent-flavored chocolate bars for the next couple of months now.

He actually died from hitting his head on one of the mixing paddles. AT least that was my understanding.
too bad he died though

This reminds me of when the guy died from falling into a giant container of beer in Beer Fest.

If this was just liquid chocolate and it wasn't boiling, it wouldn't be that bad.

They made that Axe commercial way before this...I wonder if there was any foreshadowing. All the laughter and kind words won't make this sweet.

You know, what bothers me is that there are those who require such details. The imagination is our greatest ally in times such as these...

I was actually going to mention that as it was one of the first things I thought about.

When something is being reported to me as news, I expect to be able to come to understand it as best as possible.
