Life is a paradox and people are here to make things run smoothly as well as toss in monkey wrenches from time to time. I agree with the sentiment but doing what you is a very broad statement my friend.

Take the analogy of driving. I consider myself a good driver but it's the other people on the road that I need to watch out for. Same thing applies to you. The act of driving is very simple...especially if you have an automatic car. You turn on the engine, put it in gear (of course after all of the other safety measures have been taken) and hit the gas.

It seems that those who enjoy drama like to make life difficult for other people. Sure, intellect and imagination come into play but then social dynamics determine how people act at times. For some, living means making life complicated, unfortunately.

But while we are among those extremely faraway glowing objects on the outer edge of this galaxy we are still a few compiles of matter on this tiny planet with the ability to think, foresee into the future, and even disagree. A rarity of objects that our own experiences have not yet seen a duplicate of in other species.

I am going to agree with Raidar in that while our lives could be simple, our potential in the world is far more complex and therefor shouldn't be ignored.

Also doing what you like might come out as something rather extremely dangerous and a threat to our existence, so choose what you like wisely.

Then again danger is the thing that keeps us looking for answers to try and be confident in. It's only dangerous if you don't know what you're doing.

All in all, I was just contemplating some things. I just like to keep things as simple as possible. I was also thinking about how people have so much drama in their lives, often of their own machinations, and that led to my statement.

I could have been more clear on what it means to "do what you do." It's just a local thing I'm used to hearing and saying in my neck of the woods. Basically, its saying do your own thing, provided it doesn't interfere with anyone else life.

I think many troubles are caused by people complicating their lives. Sometimes you meet people where you think "gosh you had such a good life, why do you choose to f-ck it up?" But at the same time complicating one's life can be beneficial and make life more interesting.

In other news: Life is very complicated, especially as you move further up the social and economic strata. Of course life is simpler when you use yourself as a gauge--the lack of comparison to outside references makes it much easier to cope.

Certainly, life is not quantifiable. But you can tell when you're wasting your own time.

And, yeah... if you can get back to me on the commercial bacon ice cream, you'll have increased your usefulness factor in the world by two whole units. <3

The concept of life is not complicated. That act of living life is a different story as you come across people who tend to make things difficult. We all have that friend or relative (make this a plural if you like) who likes (who like) to "make waves" or what not. It can be annoying most times but getting a few wrinkle here and there may be a necessary part of life. Depends on how you look at things and your own personal point of view.

Some things should be simple, others complex. It depends on how important it is, and if other people are involved. Living one's life as a single person is much simpler than living it together in a long term relationship. Friendships can be simple or complex, depending on who is involved and the depth of involvement, as well as the context/situation at hand.

I prefer my drama to be restricted to movies/tv/books, but sometimes it's just not possible. The best I can do is to stay away from toxic people. If confrontation is necessary, I don't mind it if it's the kind that strengthens relationships in a positive way, and involves growth on both sides. It's not easy while you're going through it, but the results are worth it.

^ Fair enough. We are all products of our life experiences, good and bad. We all have baggage. What you choose to do with that is up to you. You don't have to be philosophical about it. You can boil it down to the essentials; food, water, shelter, rest, etc. If that's what makes you tick, then work with it. If you need more, then work with whatever else it takes to make you happy, assuming that's what you want to be.
