Do peoples/guys/girls think that girls should get tattoos in general? Do you think they look good or should be avoided?

Well I don't lol....but I'm not supposed to say that otherwise someone on here would be very sad :( (not naming names *wink wink*)

I think some look ok and some look trashy. But I'm not too sure myself.

Love tattoos. I want to get a 4th one but I just bought a used car from my friend, don't want to do too much spending.

On women - I think they look awesome. I'll never forget this one chick I've seen in my travels...she was small, with neck-length black hair, had a cute face, and a plethora of tats. The two I remember: going across her upper back was a design of some incense candles with a Buddhist prayer all in Thai under them. On her right quad was a circle of flowers and three eyes in a triangle formation in the middle.

It depends what type of tattoo, you know, how big, what's it of, where it's located. Show me some pictures of girls with tattoos, and I'll say whether I like it or not.

For the most part, I don't approve of tattoos mixing with pretty formal wear, usually sleveless or strapless. Looks trashy, still, I guess it depends on the tattoo. Most of the time, though, BLAH.

Another thing, having your lover's name tattooed, not so much.

Depends on how discreet it is or how fashionable a girl can make it look.

I'd say no. Sure, tattoos probably look good on people when they're young, but when said people are in their 60's or 70's, they look abysmally stupid.

I see tats on expats wandering around this island. They don't look bad with them (not that they look to be in their prime in their 60s or 70s).

You think I'm sincere? Oh dear. I assure you, I haven't been sincere one day since the day I was born.

Tattoos fade with time, so getting them redone once in a while does no harm if you want to keep the colours bright. Though I suppose some might find it conforting to grow old with a tattoo. Unlike marriage, a tattoo sounds like a life long commitment.

No it isn't. Personally, I hate people who think they're faultless. People like that tend to show more interest in blaming others and protecting their image as opposed to actually fixing the problem at hand.

Edit: For example, some administration contractors. Can't stand those dudes. These mofos just walk around all day with their hands in their pockets, correcting people who are already doing their job just fine, constantly complaining about how other guys in other shops aren't doing their job right. Oh well. Guess they have to do that to justify their pay check. Glad I don't work in an environment like that.

If people want to add tattoos to their own skin, I see no problems with it. But as for what looks good, like previously mentioned, is nothing but a matter of taste.

Generalising opinions of taste, tattooing a tiger's maw between your legs might bring you some mixed results, while Tweety Bird on your butt cheek would hardly be anything spectacular.

Elephant, largest living land mammal, found in tropical regions of Africa and Asia. Elephants have massive bodies and heads, thick, pillarlike legs, and broad, short padded feet, with toes bearing heavy, hooflike nails. The gray skin is loose, tough, thick, and nearly hairless. The slender tail ends in a tuft of hair. The upper lip and nose are elongated into a flexible trunk, or proboscis, reaching nearly to the ground; this sensitive appendage is used for picking up food, feeding from trees and other sources, and drawing up water...

I can understand the - no it isn't - part of your reply. However, beyond that one sentance I find my mind completly boggled. Erm, I think the following does a pretty decent job at illustrating it; What? What? What? Wh-at? What? Wha-at? What? 'at? What? Oh, bollocks.

Ahem, about being sincere;

That doesn't sound so good. Depression is something not to be taken lightly at all. Luckily, I think I got just right fix for you. Go and find the nearest tree. Having done that, proceed by giving it a big hug and don't let go until you feel better. Trees do not run away, so no need to feel shy.

Agreed.

I don't think I've ever seen a girl with an attractive tattoo. I'll take it a step further and say that attractive women should not do such things. It's like putting a bumper sticker on an Aston Martin DB5 (I would normally say Macbook, but I want more people to get the point).

Oh yes, your post was indeed written in English. Thus I had no troubles understanding the text in itself. Only when trying to figure out the connection what your post had to do with mine did I run into trouble.

But it seems it is nothing but an issue with semantics.
Here are two words; sincere and insincere. The two words are antonyms. Antonym is a word for words that have opposite meanings.

The difference in our views lies in that I view the two words as complementary antonyms while you on the otherhand apparently see them as gradable antonyms. With gradable antonyms there can be variation between the two ends of the spectrum, while with complementary antonyms the two options express absolute opposites thus forbidding any variety between them.

People tend to disagree with antonyms more than they agree with, so I'd say there is not much of a point in arguing who is right this time.

As for tattoos, get one in a place that it will stretch. Smaller tattoos cost less and get bigger with time. You'll save money this way. *Nods.*

Tattoo's on women can be quite sexy if they're done right.
I don't rate sleeves and the like on women at all.
However having small ones here and there is fine by me.
The last girl I was seeing had several small ones, most of the time... u dont even notice them.

Not a huge fan of tramp stamps (the one on the lower back a lot of chicks seem to get), however done right, they can be ok as well..

I've got the symbol of the 'Ox' on my inner right forearm, which shows all the time I roll my sleeves up etc.
But its not that big and not all that noticeable I don't think.

^ that reminds me, have you seen those sleeves people wear that make it look like a naked arm covered in tattoos? You wouldn't know they were clothing, they're that good. They're quite a good idea.

Like Jeff said, they look really dumb on people by the time they get old. Smudgey and discoloured.

Also... they are often quite badly done, or they are just body grafitti, or they just show off what bad taste in art a person has. I don't really like them much.

Yeah I've seen actual clothes with tattoo like patterns on the sleeves and the plastic sleeves that slip on and looks like you have a sleeve tattoo, pretty convincing.

Yeah colours run, lines blurr, if you're skinny then put on some weight they stretch, and they fade.

To be fair anyone wanting a tattoo has alot of reaseach to do, possibly designing your own tattoo, consultations with the various artists. If you don't do that and make sure then you're asking for essentially a terrible scar on your body.

I agree.........though I am a bit biased when it comes to tattoos. Both of my calfs and my upper body have large designs. Good tattoos on women are totally hot. Size is not really an issue. It can be big or small. The key is where it is and how it flows with her body that can make it super sexy!!

I think it'd be awesome for a girl to have a big Sabbatic Goat tattooed across her back. That would look killer.

If I ever got a tattoo, it would probably have a Celtic or Pagan theme. Knotwork, goats-heads, skulls. Maybe mostly in blue.

I think tattoos are alright if you don't go overboard on it. I have a friend who has four tattoos and two of them are jokes, another one doesn't mean anything, she just wanted to get one, and I think the last one was Semper Fi in honor of her boyfriend in the Marines (she broke up with him though). I would never get tattoos like that, but its her decision, so I respect that. I plan on getting a tattoo or two when I turn 18, but it will be somewhere that I can easily cover up when I need to dress formally.

The argument that anti-tattoo people make (including my mom) that makes me laugh is "When you're 70 think of how that butterfly will look on your sagging old skin." Honestly, when I'm 70 and I'm all liver spotted and saggy, the way that butterfly will look will be the least of my worries. I'll be 70 years old! I'll probably have a stroke if every one of by body's imperfections bothers me when I'm 70 years old.
