Just saw this on one of the aviation sites I'm on almost everyday due to work . . .

Yemenia Airlines; A310-300; Flight 626; near Moroni, Comoros Islands: The aircraft was on a flight from Sana’a, Yemen to Moroni, Comoros Islands with 147 passengers and 11 crew on board. Early reports indicate that the aircraft crashed in the sea near the main island of Grande Comore in the early morning hours of June 30th. Several boats and aircraft were en route to the crash site, but several hours after the crash, there were no reports of any survivors.

Sad thing about most aviation accidents at sea, very few, if any survivors.

Flying through stormy weather is the scariest thing ever. I hate it. I wonder what went wrong with the flight...?

It probably blew up like that movie Final Destination.

Not to be confused with that movie "The Final Destination."

That's why I always fly Air Pakistan, you can't really trust anyone else.

I've flow in an airbus when I travel in Asia, but these are short trips. I don't travel during the rainy season.

I'll say this once: The modern Airbus control methodology is the reason this is happening. By attempting to automate flight control and removing the human element from the equation under the guise of safety, stuff like the crash off of the coast of Brazil and this latest crash is the consequence.

isn't crashing at sea safer? like wont the plane have less chance of exploding than crashing into solid ground or forest or mountain

Usually when a plane crashes at sea, no one survives.

Another Airbus crashed into the sea. They have had a pretty good safety record until very recently.

I think there was a survivor, but I found conflicting reports.

Anyways, I don't think this crash was because of the airbus's design. I think it's the airlines fault for being cheap. The plane was def. deemed unsafe.

That is good advice for anyone planning a vacation.
I've had such wonderful experiences in commercial planes traveling across large oceans and through monsoons. I suggest that everyone tries to take off in the middle of a tropical storm. You won't regret it.

I won't lie though. When I flew on kingfisher's airbus, it was pretty nice. They didn't try to sell you anything and the in-flight entertainment was pretty good. I loled

I have seen reports of a single child surviving. Hopefully, they are correct. One survivor is better than none. It's still a very low rate though.

The cause was likely weather related but maintenance issues may have also been the cause or an exacerbating factor.

A technical fault or design problem is unlikely.

That little girl survived. There were BAWWW reports all over the news tonight.

I think she's the terrorist who masterminded it all
