View Full Version : Billy Mays (No Longer) Here

Jatz
June 28th, 2009, 09:44 AM
Authorities say Mays was pronounced dead this morning after being found by his wife at home. There were no signs of a break-in, and investigators do not suspect foul play. The coroner's office expects to have an autopsy done by Monday afternoon.

OK... this sounds like something screwy, I mean the guy has been advertising random products for a while now (Not just Oxiclean and Kaboom).

and it's still coincidence that he died a few days after Michael Jackson right?

well like they always say, the good die young.

In Hollywood the average life time for a person is relatively shorter than the average Joe Shmo, only becuase the Hollywood person is pampard more and the normale average person knows how to survive on his own.

Wow, my brother just yelled that across the house and I was like, what?

He was just getting more successful too, what with his own TV show and such (not to mention he was pretty iconic already). He seemed really healthy too. I mean, Farah Fawcett had cancer, Michael Jackson looked like a skeleton for the past 5 years, but old Billy Mays looked pretty healthy.

What a crazy summer this is shaping up to be.

Billy Mays? :( Wow, I wasn't expecting that one anytime soon. Sorry to see him go. He seemed to have quite the cult following. I watched Pitchmen a few times, too. The first time I read this I thought one of their bizarre advertising schemes had gone horribly wrong, after seeing them try to get each other eaten by sharks, making each other let a car run over parts of their body... It seemed like something weird was bound to happen eventually. :D I wonder what actually was wrong with him, he was pretty young and seemed healthy.

He said he was hit on the head when an airplane he was on made a rough landing Saturday, and his wife, Deborah Mays, told investigators he didn't feel well before he went to bed about 10 p.m. that night.

.....

U.S. Airways confirmed that Mays was among the passengers on a flight that made a rough landing on Saturday afternoon at Tampa International Airport, leaving debris on the runway after apparently blowing its front tires.

Wow, damn...this week has been terrible. All of this and a person from my High School that I used to party with and had a couple classes with died last night in a car accident...

Old Ape Face
June 28th, 2009, 05:46 PM
so what did he die from?

Jon
June 28th, 2009, 05:52 PM
He was speeding while drunk, with no seatbelt on. He hit something which made his car flip in the air, and he died. His girlfriend was in the car too, and the only reason she lived was because of the seatbelt. She's in critical condition and broke an arm and both her legs...

Please people, war your seatbelts and don't drive drunk, at all. I know it happens and although my friend was a great person, he made a fatal mistake. R.I.P Nathan. Only 18 years of age, he graduated with me...

Old Ape Face
June 28th, 2009, 05:58 PM
Not your friend... Billy Mays.

The LA article said he was in a plane that landed heavy and apparently he got hit in the head, and was found dead the next morning by his wife...

It isn't clear if the plane was the initial cause of death though.

Still that's a harsh way to go.

Jon
June 28th, 2009, 06:05 PM
My bet is it caused internal bleeding if he got hit in the head, but then again, I'm just guessing. It sounds plausible though;)

Bingo! That's what I thought when I read that Billy suffered a head injury. And just like Ms. Richardson, he never knew he had a time bomb ticking in his head. Very sad. Billy was fun to watch in all those commercials he had done. At the risk of sounding morbid, as for who's next, if not Patrick Swayze, then 92 year old Walter Cronkite who's said to be on his death bed.

lol! Honestly, both blackkknight and I have been making up commercials and imitating him. We had just started doing it about 2 weeks before he had died. Maybe he died from us doing that! lol

The most recent one that we have done was because of our annoying neighbor b**ching early in the morning when we were trying to sleep. We heard him yelling at someone to go f**k yourself. He said it like this: "Go f**k yourself, go f**k yourself, Go the f**k to work!" lol We don't know who he said it to or why. But we created a commercial imitating Billy Mays advertising 2 volumes of books. Volume one entitled "Go f**k yourself, go f**k yourself & volume 2 "Go the f**k to work"

I will miss hearing Billy's commercials. RIP Billy Mays.
