Naruto: SHippuden vol. 1 DVD going to be in Dub?

So Shippuuden boxes will either be labeled as such or they'll be box #17.
I can't wait. I prefer to buy boxes because it's a better value imo. The one bad thing about fansubs and Crunchyroll is that when you want to actually own something, you have to wait YEARS for it to come out. I can't wait till the box with the Sasori vs Sakura/Chiyoba battle to come out. I've been wanting to buy that for almost 3 years now.
Off topic, they really lose out on any opportunity for people to make an impulse buy with their release schedules.

It IS DUB!
And...it is a single DVD with 4 episodes and not a box set.

Since Naruto is apparently black listed on Cartoon Network, my guess is that Viz is trying to establish all possible ways of getting us content (ps3, xbox, iTunes, dvd, hulu, etc) before they release the Shippuden dub. This way they can release the dub everyone on all resources all at once. Basically this way they can maximise their profit even if the dub never makes it to TV.
(The show NEEDS to be aired on TV.)

I think Viz is trying to do what Family GUy did and that is trying to sell enough DVDs to garner interest in Shippuden to be aired on TV.

This plan would be alot more useful if they'd release the shows already. I think all anime is really hurt by the fact that you can't really do impulse buys. When a US tv show comes out, if you're really into it you can go buy the whole season on DVD/Blu-Ray maybe like 1-2 weeks after it ends.
That creates a situation where if you're caught up in the joy of the show, there is a product you can immediately go out and buy. Anime doesn't have that. If you get caught up in a show, you might have to wait multiple years for something to be released that you can buy. With Naruto, it's a long running series so at least once those years pass, the show is still on and you still remember it. For shows that aren't epically long though, you may have forgotten about it or lost interest by the time it finally gets a release.
Imagine if Family Guy and Futurama still didn't have DVDs out on the market yet. They never would have come back. When Adult Swim picked them up, if you liked the what you saw, you could go out and buy the whole season the next day if you really wanted to.

Since when is Naruto blacklisted? It's still the most popular anime in the US right now. Just because they stopped airing shows doesn't mean it's blacklsited. They just aren't showing reruns of it.
As for the release date, I didn't notice one in the links. I think it wil be released later this year. September may be a month early but who knows.

^OP is correct on the release date. I have it listed as a Sept. release in my thread (http://animenation.net/forums/showthread.php?t=218458) in the DVD forum as well, along with VIZ's other September solicitations (http://animenation.net/forums/showpost.php?p=6610378&postcount=177).

Well Viz Media has not found a channel to air Naruto Shippuden so without a channel there is no show on T.V.

Where has Viz said they couldn't find a startion to ar it? It's more popular than Bleach and CN still aris that show. I'm very dubious that Viz is incapable of airing the most popular Us-released anime of the decade. There has to be something else in the works here that we jsut aren't privy to.

What time slot can they put Naruto at. They can Air at 11:00 p.m or 12 :00a.m. Because Bleach airs at 12:30 a.m 1:00 a.m.
CN it looks like they are trying to get rid of Anime. Look at the time slot they have Anime at. It's late at night. It looks like it would make more since to go to a different net work. Like G4TV, or Sci-Fi, Spike or MTV.

MTV?!? NO WAY!
SpikeTV....Maybe if they are willing to create a anime slot on, say...Saturday Night or Friday Night.
G4....It wouldnt be a bad choice, but I dont think many people get that channel unless they got DirectTV or Dish Network.
SciFi...is likely THE most logical place to go....but only if they move the Anime block to Saturday or Friday.

SpikeTV I also agree.

Same here, Spike TV or Sci-Fi channels seem most logical to air it. G4 possibly but MTV definitely not. But don't rule out CN out completely yet they could still bring it back. Oh well time will tell. Either way I'm totally looking forward to the new dvd sets.

Then why are still airing Bleach? Why did they bring back Code Geadd and Moribito, shows they already cancelled once? I'll agree that something wierd is going on at CN and what that is I have no idea. However, if Naruto Shippuden does air I believe it will go back to CN. Sci-fi's programming is too small to handle it. They typically handle small shows except for maybe Gurren Lagenn. Naruto is too big a title. G4TV gave upo on anime 5 years ago, they're too small to handle a show like Naruto and Spike only does Afro shows, and Starz won't take it either.
CN can show it where it normally did. The mistake CN did with Inuyasha was put in AS time slot because of the opening scene, a mistake they admitted later on that is should have been aired in prime-time instead of late-ngiht. Same is trur for Shippuden, it won't get a late night time slot althogh it will get more PG/MA labels than it's predecessors.

Hmm That's good, but I've been wondering when Naruto Shippuden will play on Tv since they've already started it in English...The original Naruto has already ended on Tv I'm pretty sure, well It ended a while ago.

I'll probaly buy the first volume of Shippuden, just to check it out.
I've always followed the manga somewhat more...but from what I've seen of Shippuden, it's ok. At least Naruto is more tolerable.
