I suck with model kits, so I was thinking about getting a figure of both the original Gundam and Char's red Zaku (I'm a real "red" kind of person). Which ones are good? I hear there's this line called "Mobile Suit in Action" which is famous as a non-model kit line...

Just get a model kit.

They are extremely easy to make, I made my first one (GP-01) when I was in 2nd grade.

To be honest my personal skill level is still at 1/100 HG. I've thought about moving to 1/100 Master Grade or 1/60 (Real Detail) but have yet to find a model kit that I really want to build out.

If you get an MSIA figure you're going to lose on overall size compared to a 1/100 model kit. At least the one's I've seen:P.

Just my opinion.

Okay, then what's a good one for beginner's? How long should it take to complete? Will I have to do sanding, painting on insignias, etc.? It is true that the parts really just snap together without glue?

All the parts snap together, takes around 3 hours.

And I strongly recommend getting all the details onto the model/repaint before using glue.

Wait, would I use glue after putting it together or before?

I'm not looking for anything too big, maybe around Revoltech-sized. Still, maybe I'll look at some pics of them to see if I'm going to be missing out on anything.

...Before? Although I suppose you could put it together first and then take it apart to glue.

Did you ever get those Kotobukiya SRW models you were talking about? Well Gunpla are a little more complicated. You need to take everything out of the runners, sand it, paint it, add panel lines and other detail before glue it together. Add the glue to each piece so that every component is secure (component = leg, arm, torso head etc) before you assemble. You wouldn't glue the joints for obvious reasons.

Well you need to do that with the Kotobukiya 1:144 models for best results really but you can get away without. I've never really been any good with paint so I've avoided it up till now.
