If true, disappointing. Orochimaru was truly evil, and that made him awesome as a villain. I thought Pain could maybe top him because he was destroying major and beloved characters left and right, beating down Jiraiya and Kakashi into graves and turning Konoha into a bloody crater. Even if Naruto was able to redeem his conscience through talking after defeating him, it should still be too late for those lost. I know Granny brought back Garra, but he was only mostly dead (Princess Bride reference) and it took her knowledge of puppet mastery and lots of the 9-tail's chakra. Why not just revive Naruto's parents too magically and have everybody go out for pancakes and ramen?

I certainly didn't think Kakashi was going to come back like that. I hope he finished his talk with dad first...

I'm glad he's back though, still sets up for the Tobi=Obito reveal (Madara in Obito's body anyway). If Kakashi had stayed dead, then I would have given up all thought on the subject, as Kakashi is the only one it'd directly effect.

I gotta say though, after this, Nagato's character was a serious let down. He's been so bad *** up 'til now. This could only have gotten better if he also fixed Konoha while he was 'bringing back the dead' <_<

Simply amazing, awesome chapter.

I enjoyed the chapter. It was a nice finish to the arc. It was a nice surprise for Naruto too, since he didn't go into it expecting Nagato's Rinnegan to have the power over life and death, but Naruto still stuck with his ideals and plan anyway and managed to pull out a win in terms of ideology.

I'm looking forward to the next chapter and expecting some sort of a celebratory type issue with the Lightning ninja coming in to inform Konoha about Sasuke and the Kage summit. Since Tsunade won't be in a condition that will allow her to attend, she'll probably send the future Hokage in her place, :) along with an entourage of particular shinobi. Kakashi's a good bet, but if there're any others, I can't really see anyone that would play a particularly important role during that event... other than their absence from the village during whatever event will take place there, Danzou's uprising or Sasuke's return.

Because his chakra was quite low, it was implied that all he could manage was the villagers.

So after completely reading this chapter, its not as idiotic and full of hypocracy as I thought. In retrospect, I should of seen this coming with the prophecy. I am now, no longer, unbelievably angry.

I still think Nagato was a bad ***, and the message Kishi is trying to get across with the whole manga will hopefully not fall upon deaf ears. War is not the answer, timely yes, but quite honestly, I would preferred they stay dead.
All in all, this was still full of epic battles, and has been quite the arc.

I think Naruto and Sastard will fight, he will chage sastard. Sastard will live long enough to knock up Sakura, and then die saving Naruto from Madara.

The return of Orochimaru is the only thing that can make up for this cop out Mai-Hime BS ending that the writer fed us. No matter what, i'm still pissed that he basically undid the most dramatic and exciting chapters of Naruto ever written.

I don't know guys, this is exactly what was supposed to happen to close out the story neatly. This truly shows the power Naruto has in changing people, how much he has grown both mentally and phisically. And it shows he still has limits, he simply did not have an answer, but has faith in those who previously believed in him (Jiraiya). I personally couldn't have asked for a better ending to this arc. Nagato, deep down, truly was a good kid, but just went through a lot **** which turned his heart cold.

Well if he was gonna revive Kakashi, he should have shown him go down in a total blaze. I mean, fall back on a multi chapter send off like with Jiraiya since you know you'll get back lash for the revival, but at least show him go out decisively. This just feels totally weak to me. The Akatsuki had individual motivations, but to think even the motivation of the organization as a whole is so weak. I'd rather the leader have just been a blood thirsty psychopath.

As Kishimoto has mentioned before in interviews, he'll kill off characters in order to develop other characters, i.e.- killing Jiraiya in order to better develop Naruto. In regards to the named characters that died during this arc, Kakashi and Shizune, Kakashi is the only one that has any real importance to the story, and, paradoxically, his own death will lead to the development of his character. The fodder characters can be considered non-existent in this sense since they're not really important to the development of the main characters or the story. Even Shizune could be considered a fodder character.

So when seen from this angle, Kishimoto used this method in order to revive Kakashi and further develop his character. So in a sense Nagato only revived two characters, and only one of those two will be likely to make good use of that opportunity.

Also, Hinata didn't die in the first place, so you can't count her as a character that was "supposed to die", and the point behind her sacrifice was so that she could protect Naruto, thus leading to potential development in regards to Naruto's relationships.

To consider a revival as instantly trivializing is a rather superficial view on the matter. Now, if all of the Akatsuki were revived, that would be BS because then we would have to deal with even more chapters that repeat previous fights which would take away from the weekly chapters that should be telling the story, but fortunately that's not the case. We have Kakashi back, and a setup for potentially more Kakashi-related background.

When reviving the village folk, Nagato states that he still has time to revive those that he killed when attacking the village. From that, one can intuit that there's a time limit.

Pain DID kill a bunch of people, and we all know that shounen crap are not supposed to have dead people...

Now, the only thing, IMO, that is fail is that Pain made everyone alive again... which sucks as much as Kagura loses memory in Ga-Rei manga.

I disagree, the only difference between Inoue and the big guy (forget his name) bringing people back to life and the way it happened in Naruto is the way it's drawn...and some back story to it, but the same questions can be asked, Inoue can pretty much do whatever she wants with her power in bleach when it really comes down to it....so why doesn't she just wish Aizen never existed or something.
