UFC 98: Evans vs. Machida May 23rd in Vegas.

Light heavy weight belt on the line here.
Also Hughes vs. Serra should be interesting. Hughes' fight with GSP was exciting, so I'd like to see what he has in store for us. But I'm not really a fan of either of them.
I think that Machida is definitely going to be portrayed as the underdog (which he is obviously) but I'm afraid it might be to over exaggerated. Anyone have insight on the betting odds?
He has a lot of 'anti-fans' because of his karate style. At the last NAGA I went to there was a bunch of guys with shirts saying "Karate Doesn't Work," I was really surprised they could be so narrow minded.

I have Evans over Machida, but I want Machida to win, so hopefully he surprises me. Rashad's stand-up is a lot more technical than the strikers who get frustrated from Machida's countering tactics.

Whenever I see Machida fight, I think the fight is going to end with a decision (it does most of the time.) I really hope he gets an opportunity to unload. That's always sick. He goes from calm to a freaking animal, but not a single punch or elbow hits the canvas... like in round 2 against Sokoudjou.

Just got back from watching the fight. Machida knocked out Evans in the 2nd round. He almost scored a takedown on him at one point. Machida was never in any danger, all Evans could muster was a few counter punches and a kick here and there. I am glad Evans lost, he dances around like some kind of clown, and thinks he is the 2nd coming of Sugar Ray Leonard or something. He is a great fighter but he needs to take his fights a little more seriously. Other fights, Hughes over Serra UD
Sonnan over Miller UD
Edger over Sherk UD (edger put on a clinic and picked apart Sherk from start to finish)

Evans wasn't "dancing around" during the fight, it's called great footwork dude. But anyways, I'm glad Machida won! Machida had it the first round and got a K.O in the 2nd round! He was TOO QUICK for Evans, even though Evans is fast himself. It was an awesome match.

I think Lyoto VS Liddell/Wanderlei would be a good one

I was disappointed with the Hughes V Serra fight. Besides the outcome, I think that it lacked a lot of effort on the part of both fighters. I would have given the first round to Serra as he was dominating for most of the round. Second round was a waste of time as most of it was spent on the ground with neither Hughes doing anything spectacular on top nor Serra taking advantage of any openings from the bottom.
Evans V Machida was a great fight. Machida is one of the more classy fighters in the sport, along with guys like George St. Pierre. His high kicks looked like the spooked Evans and those switch kicks were fast.
I didnt expect to see Evans drop like that even though I was rooting for Machida from the beginning. Evans' strategy of moving around and fancy footwork didn't really have any effect in this fight as Machida really cut the distance with his effective kicking range. As charismatic as Evans is, Machida's focus and skill had earned him a well deserved victory.
Good night of fights even though i missed the first hour.

Sorry but Chuck is all washed up. Didn't he get K.O'd by Evans in a couple of seconds?
@kabuki
Serra did pretty good until Hughe's took it to the ground like a b****. Hughe's couldn't land anything, only if he man'd up and fought...Serra would have won lol

Chuck is getting up there in age and he is first class brawler; always was and always will be. I'd still like to see him fight some more.
In my mind, it was Serra's fight. The way it looked was that Hughes out-wrestled him but that's all part of the game. Maintaining dominant position earned a decision. The stand up was nothing to clap about. I expected them to go at it more, since there was this animosity (over-hyped) brooding between them. But that is really not uncommon amongst those type of fighters...with exceptions like Machida and George St. Pierre.
Serra, for some reason could not take advantage of being on his back and the second round was a waste of my time. But I was rooting for Serra from the beginning.
It will be interesting to see who tries to take the title away from Lyoto.
