Dissapointed in the Pain/Nagato character?

So, is anyone here dissapointed in the Pain/Nagato character, as well as the Rinnegan?


What would you have done differently with the Rinn. and Pain?

I would've had the Rinnegan shoot laser beams out of the eyes.

I can't really say anything about Pain until the arc is finished though.

tbh, Kishi has gone OTT on alot of things post time skip, I dont wont the rinnegan to be some ultra amazing move, preferably something which like the sharingan has the ability to see jutsus and how they work, or even better how to change them to make them stronger

What I would want:
The original Rinnegan should be able to read and crush or at least fragment and control or possess the minds of all it encounters, only someone like Naruto who's got a sealed mind area inside his own might survive intact, others if rescued would have to be put back together mentally by a healer of some sort like a mind meld. Even Sasuke's brain (disclaimer - I hate him) would be vaporized into a goo puddle because the rinnegan would be the sharingan's (and the byakugan's too) daddy. It would be the brute force champion of eye jutsu. Madara would survive because he's Pain's father figure and he knows not to look him in the eye, plus maybe because he can go transparent ghost so he can't be physically touched.
Then combine it with the chakra piercing sticks which tie back to Nagato's body and he can then control the possessed bodies at the cost of his own paralysis.
The possessed bodies should really only know the jutsus they had, but they have the advantage of one mind now so they can watch each other's backs and attack in concert and overwhelming shock and awe, especially when you've got guys that can nuke a village. He only controls 7 paths of pain because that's his limit to juggle action, but in theory the Rinnegan could control more. His followers would have to bring back new victims to the original so that Nagato could invade their minds. Maybe being blind would save a person from that, but perhaps they would have to be eyeless, not just blind. He would probably have a bunch of spare victims to start up if one of his paths got destroyed, just like Orochimaru kept whole prisons worth of slaves and experiment subjects.

Not at all, the fight sequences were amazing. Compared to some other shounen titles hes doing a great job.

I just feel like we havent see the "true" Rinnegan. I want to see what the damn thing can ACTUALLY do, what its main jutsu is, yanno?

Maybe by not seeing all of its abilities, this leaves open the possibility that we'll see the Rinnegan in action again at some point in the future.

Rinnegan is fail. Everyone knows it's all about the Sharingan. Part of the reason why many people find Naruto so fascinating is because of the Uchiha and their Sharingan. Not some stupid hypno eye.

Yet that is exactly what the sharingan is, a form of hypnosis.

Lots of people want the leader Pain to be this "supervillan" and he's not. He's just an average guy with a unique ability and people just don't want to accept that. He's a person with a very cruel power, but isn't completely cruel himself. Personally, I'm ok with his portrayal.

I wish his power was cooler. The Rinnegan was supposed to be like this super bad *** eye trick. They said that the Byakugan and the Sharringan came from it, but it seems pretty blow in comparison.

The Byakugan lets you see for miles, you can view chakra, you can see chakra points, you can read your opponent's emotional state. The Sharringan... is severely hacked and pretty much does anything you could possibly imagine, from mind tricks to spitting fire.

The Rinnegan... it lets you push and pull stuff every 5 seconds. That seems like a major downgrade imo. Unless that soul sucking jutsu is a rinnegan power, the rinnegan seems like one of the crappiest bloodline powers in the whole Naruto universe.

Also, I hate how Naruto has all these soft *** bad guys. Hidan and Kazoku are the only ones that seemed like bad people rather than some lonely kids who turned evil cuz they were sad. The first few times it was cool, but now it's old hat imo.

One of the Rinnegan's jutsus can suck out people's souls by merely touching them. That's not bad-a$$ You need to stop watching Dragonball. Rinnegan is a very over-powered technique. Naruto would have been dead already if Pein's job was to just kill him.

Not only that, he can utilize the dead and have them employ his lethal attacks too-albeit it's one per body. It's like having Kage-Bunshin on steroids and the bodies don't go "poof" when they get hit. They get back up and keep coming at you. Just because he doesn't have a color-ball chakra attack doesn't make Pein a pansy.

Actually, it was never said that the Byakugan and Sharingan came from the Rinnegan, rather what was said was that the Rinnegan is the most powerful of the 3 eye technique lines.

After seeing episode 162 I'm thinking that Orochimaru was stronger than Pein. Pein can bring dead back to life and control them to use the 6 paths. Big deal i say when orochimaru can bring anyone who is dead back and control them (even pein). I mean if Orochimaru wanted to attack konoha in da same way Pein did then all he needed to do was summon all da dead kages (or similar) and attack... Look at Kabuto he managed to bring all da dead akatsuki back..Plus they can't be killed.. Unless u seal them.. Orochimaru you were real badass...

Yes, but he can't revive them,. plus he could only do 3. Chop off a head and you're down one. One sage mode SR and it's all over. Not with Pein. Put them in the Pein recycler for a few minutes on Fluff and you're good to go.

Is that actually a rinnegan jutsu or just something that Pain can do? Pain summoned monsters but that's not actually some exclusive ability of rinnegan users.

Nor was a lot of what the sharingan could do. Aside from Amaterasu and Tsukiyomi the sharingan allowed the user to copy and utilize abilities that were withing his/her ability. If I'm not mistaken I think the rinnegan does that and more? He can use kekkei genkei's if he has the right bodies, something that the uchiha's can't do. It allowed him to control 6 dead bodies at once, with him sharing all of their senses at once not to mention the ability to use any jutsu there is theoretically, like the suck out the soul one. Or the summoning one, or the gravity one or absorbing one. Seems very badass to me. It's lacks some of the sharingans traits yes but it looked like Pain did something Orochimaru and the Uchiha couldn't, take down the village.

I don't think its limited to 3.. Orochimaru for some reason only brought back 1st, 2nd and 3rd (sort of) hokage.. Kabuto revived all da dead akatsuki.. This included itachi and pein.. If oro had brought back more dead ninjas I think Konoha would have been flattened at the very beginning... Maybe he only wanted the founders of konoha to destroy it.. if he was really limited to 3 then Kabuto it seems has surpassed his master!

Pein is immune to genjitsu has the ability to create a moon and distroy a whole village.. But it shortens his life.. I'm not sure if he can use the Demonic Statue technique and if he could use it over and over again I think he would have without going to the trouble of using Shinra Tensei..
So in essence his main abilities are those the 6 peins can use.. unlimited summons.. Taijutsu master who can read minds and remove souls.. Chakra absorber.. robot with rockets.. and ability to regenerate dead peins (not very useful in a battle).. ability to manipulate gravity (awesome).. On top of this they all share same field of vision and are immune to genjutsu..

Let say to match the 6 peins orochimaru summons itachi, kakuzu, hadin, deidara, sasori, and 4th hokage.. My money would be on Oro.. and if Oro finds where Pein is transmitting from then game over?
