Anybody else on these forums follow Hockey at all? I haven't caught a whole lot of games this year because I work the night-shift, but so far I've seen some really good games between Anaheim - Detroit and Washington - Pittsburgh. Unfortunately both of my favorite teams have been eliminated (Columbus) or didn't make the playoffs (Colorado).

Anybody have any predictions on who they think will win? I think it'll be Carolina vs. Pittsburgh in the East and Vancouver vs. Detroit in the West. I hate to say it, but it may very well be a repeat of last years Finals if both Detroit and Pittsburgh make it to the conference finals, but unlike last year, I think Pittsburgh will be the better team.

I think Anaheim will pull the upset on Detroit. It's a great series so far though, the best one to watch.

I really hope The Caps can beat the Penguins though, I'm just not a huge Penguin fan. I'd much rather see Ovechkin keep playing than Crosby, he's the best player in the league.

I think Vancouver will edge out the Blackhawks, but this is turning into a great series as well. The Blackhawks have a little less experience, and the Canucks are a better defensive team, so I think they'll be able to win a tight series.

I really thought Boston was the best team in the East, but Carolina is playing incredibly well right now. Carolina will probaly finish it tonight.

I'm picking Anaheim to come out of the West, and Carolina out of the East at this stage. All the teams are really talented this year though, it's been an exciting playoffs. It just feels like any of the remaining teams could win it all.

I would agree, especially after how Pittsburgh played Friday night.

Sushikins, are you a Buckeye? You know there's no sports in Columbus except Ohio State Football . . . .:P

Born and raised, and yeah, Ohio State Football dominates everything sports in this city, but the Blue Jackets have gathered a strong following over the years, and Columbus has a pretty big hardcore hockey fanbase. The Buckeyes and the Blue Jackets are my favorite sports teams.

On-Topic: Looks like the Detroit/Anaheim game isn't on TV, oddly enough, but I plan on catching the Carolina/Boston game tonight.

Damn.. well looks like I was only right about the Hurricanes winning the series haha.

Anaheim/Detroit was a great series, much better than the Caps/Pens in my opinion. It would have been better if Anaheim were seeded higher so they could have met in the Conference Finals.

These playoffs are so good right now though, every team is awesome, it just feels like every series will go seven games haha.

Well, since the Hurricanes were the only team I picked correctly, I'm going to stick with them and hope they beat the Penguins, haha. I think Carolina is a little better defensively, and they have enough offense to get the job done. This one could probably go 7 games as well.

Chicago vs Detroit should be a good one too. Chicago is the younger team, but I'm not sure yet if that will be an advantage or not. I'm not a fan of teams repeating and winning it all twice, so I'm going to be pulling for Chicago.

Carolina vs. Pittsburgh - I'll be pulling for Pittsburgh here, the Canes won a few years ago, but it's been a quite a few years since Pittsburgh last won the cup. Plus it's been fun watching Crosby play.

Chicago vs. Detroit - I'm pulling for Chicago all the way here. Detroit beat my team in the first round, and being from Ohio, I have a natural disposition towards hating teams from that state up north.

Try being a Buckeye with your family divided between the Bukeye State and those people from up north. :P Oh, and living in the South, just to make matters worse. Though, as a Clevelander, I'm prone to seeing Ohio State be the only good thing from Columbus.

Glad to see that Detroit was able to pull past Anaheim; something came up and I didn't get a chance to watch the game last night. So, Chicago's next? Awesome. I think that series where the original league teams play are much more exciting.

My sister's BF, and his friend are big time Bruins fans, and they were blowing up the house last night as they beat Carolina with a comeback.

I still am, and I was loving life last night watching the game . . .

I'm a huge Hurricanes fan.. I'm fairly sure that this year will be a rematch of last years finals. I just hope the canes can actually win a game. I think the Boston series took everything they had and now they're tired. Oh well, anyone but Detriot will work for me!

**** YEAH PENGUINS!

I was rooting for Pittsburgh all the way in the Finals, but I didn't think they'd actually be able to pull off a Game 7 win in Detroit. It was a good game and an exciting finish.

Wow, people still watch hockey. I thought only the ones with flappy heads did.

 just kidding. I'm not a huge hockey fan, but as for picking a team I hope the New Jersey Devils win.

Congratulations to the Chicago Blackhawks for taking home this year's Stanley Cup. I'm afraid to say that due to work, I didn't catch a single game of the finals this year >_<

And congrats to Hossa for finally breaking his curse, the guy deserves it after the past two years

To bring this thread back to life for a moment, none of us from Chicago even watched Hockey until our team began winning. Now we're all die-hard hockey fans.

Any other Chicago people here?

It appears that you will be cruising on Royal Caribbean's Vision of the Seas out of LA. That is one of RC's older and smaller ships and it does not have a sports bar. So whether you will be able to see the game is questionable.

I have been on cruises when they did show football games that everyone wanted to see on TV's in the sports bar. Other times they did not. While your cabin will have a TV, many times the cabin reception is different from the sports bar. And, sometimes the ships' satellite systems just does not pick up ESPN or the other channels that the game may be on, especially if you are in Mexican waters (you are likely to get soccer instead).
