If hentai was held to the same standards that movies are for winning oscars, who do you think would win? I'm not talking about sex scenes and the hot women/men. I mean the acting and story-line. Anyway, any nominations?

Most Under appreciated - Angel Blade
Best Story - Angel blade.

Seriously I wish they would have finished angel blade's story up. I mean I love bible black but I enjoyed the animation and story in Angel Blade a little bit more. It could have made a pretty good series without the ecchi.

IMO, Another Lady Innocent, Mezzo Forte, Cool Devices have much better animation than that of Bible Black. Mezzo Forte and Cool Devices have a much more compelling story than Bible Black also. ^_^

After reading this thread, I think some people need to watch some other series.

Black Black is, to put it in Oscar terms, Richard Burton. Always nominated, but never a true winner..... It's Naruto of hentai. Just because it's extreme doesn't make it the best. Same goes for Taimanin Asagi and the rest of that sub-genre. What's bad about these shows is the fact that when people talk about the genre, that's what most people know. There are many quality series like Lingeries, Ringetsu, or Aniyome wa Ijippari that unfortunately get grouped together with Bible Black or Urotsukidoji because of pre-conceived notions.

But when it comes down to it, everyone likes different things. As I've said many times before, If we all like the same things, Life would be rather boring.....

my academy vote would go to Sora no Iro, Mizu no Iro. Great animation, interesting characters, and a decent story. But if it was really like the oscars, some obscure hentai most people didn't watch would win best picture

I agree. Bible Black seems to get a lot of credit because it's a popular one. I'm not sure why. But I still think it's one of the best animated hentais I've ever seen, so it's got my vote for that.

Do you mean "best long series"? Night Shift Nurses (http://www.animenation.net/blog/2006/12/19/ask-john-how-much-night-shift-nurses-anime-exists/) and the Isaku/Kisaku/Shusaku meta-series both have more episodes (twenty-four (not including recaps and compilations) and twenty-five, respectively, versus nineteen (http://www.animenation.net/blog/2003/02/17/ask-john-how-much-bible-black-is-there/) for Bible Black, including the Imari short, but not the "movie"), never mind Cream Lemon (http://www.animenation.net/blog/2003/07/22/ask-john-how-much-cream-lemon-is-there/) (which is an anthology, and so it may not count).

Edit: Oops. Make that seventeen for Bible Black, not including the "movies", but including the Imari short. Anime derived from Yuki Seto's works currently number seventeen episodes (eight for Stringendo alone, with another on the way), and Cream Lemon (http://www.animenation.net/forums/showthread.php?t=229563) per se has forty one, plus the two live action release—one movie and one original video—but not including compilations, re-releases, and spin-offs. Urotsukidoji has eighteen episodes in six OAV series, including the three-episode remake, but not including the "movies".

I think Discipline should win at least one honorable award. It's a shame it's not looked upon with the same admiration as Bible Black, but in some departments it's actually better.

I would agree with that. I liked Discipline a lot better Bible Black, But I perfer Cleavage most of all of the D3 games/anime designed by initially by Seishoujo

Discipline was good, but I think they should've kept to the style of BB a little bit more(As in animation and stuff). The anime's mood was completely different than the game's was. And yep, Cleavage was an awesome hentai. XD His new "Starless" looks interesting too
