View Full Version : Lubricants in hentai?

Like sexually transmitted infections (http://www.animenation.net/forums/showthread.php?t=218898) and condoms (http://www.animenation.net/forums/showthread.php?t=204728), artificial lubricants (ローション "rōshon"—"lotion") don't show up much in hentai (anime). The one instance I can remember at this time is Jun Amatsuki lubing Kurumi Imari's anus in preparation for Imari's rape by Taki Minase (and vice versa—neither is consenting) in Bible Black episode 4. (I know I've seen a few others, but I've forgotten them.)

So—what other hentai anime series feature the use of non-bodily substances for the purpose of lubrication?

(Ulterior motive: I'm looking to submit "lotion" and "lotion play" (see Wikipedia and Sankaku Complex for more on the later) to Gilles Poitras' The Anime Companion Supplement (http://www.koyagi.com/ACPages/ACmain.html), and I'd like more than just B.B. and a chapter of Manga Sutra: Futari H vol. 4 as examples.)

Edit: The Lubricants list as it stands:

In Japanese: ローション ("rōshon"—"lotion"); ローションプレイ ("rōshon purei"—"lotion play")

Hentai anime series that feature the use of non-bodily substances (at least, those belonging to the participants) for the purpose of lubrication.

Bible Black episode 4
Blood Royale episode 1
Discipline: The Hentai Academy episode 1
Elven Bride, The episode 1
Shusaku the Letch: Liberty episode 1
Slight Fever Syndrome episodes 1 (twice) and (possibly) 2
Slave Nurses episode 1
Stepsister episode 2
Possibly:

Akiko episode 1 (substance uncertain)
This list may not be definitive (though I hope to make it so with your help); what did I miss, and what needs correction?

I guess blood would be considered a "natural" lubricant

Yes, along with saliva, urine, feces, sweat, semen, and other secretions/excretions. (If you can find a demon in anime that secrets polyacrylate (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sodium_polyacrylate) or methyl cellulose (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methyl_cellulose)—and prove it—I'll accept that. :D)

I found another, sort of—the "harpy ooze" in The Elven Bride. It's naturally produced, but is used on a third party as lube.

Given the response on the Mania.com Anime/Manga forums, I've made this an "official" list in the database. What do you think?

<chuckles> I just deleted Sex Taxi, as after reviewing the scene the substance turns out to be an aphrodisiac, not a lube. I also confirmed The Elven Bride.

I just updated the list with a couple of series, courtesy of Mania.com's Betenoire.
