Favourite. I've read 'em all. If I ever choose to reread 6 and 7, it'll be like 20 twenty years from now. Or maybe if King kicks the bucket before then (assuming I outlive him), I'll reread then.
Wind Through the Keyhole is set to be released in either March or April of next year. I'm very excited! Maybe since that ending's behind us, the ride'll be more enjoyable.

I've been reading this for three months and just slogging through it. I don't know if the Clancy brand is just losing its appeal to me, the brand is a diminished form of itself, or the story is actually poorly written. I'm tempted to say D) all of the above.

Robert Leckie's from Sea to Shining Sea which covers from right after the revolution too right before the civil war. His George Washington's war is excellent for the revolution and a retrospective would be The Wars of America: From 1600 to 1900.
Shelby Footes ginormous tome is also worthwhile for the civil war. Barbara Tuchmann's The Guns of August is excellent book on the first month of WWI.

Started "Full Dark, No Stars" by Stephen King, yesterday. Got through the first story, "1922," but I really don't know why I'm reading this. Never could find much entertainment in any of the other short story collections.
Also, I suppose I'm kinda reading Brad Cohen's "Front of the Class: How Tourette Syndrome Made Me the Teacher I Never Had." It's assigned reading for one of my sister's education courses, but being that she's lazy and a non-reader, she asks me to read to her while she half-listens. Anywayz, I love Cohen's attitude about things, reminds me of myself as a youngster. I hear he teaches here in Georgia.
And, I must say, "Akata Witch" by Nnedi "How the Heck do you Spell/Pronounce That" Okorafor ended terribly. Not terribly as in a "bad things happen to good characters" sense, but more of a, "I didn't listen to the Gotdammed Turtle and got ran over by some a-hole, so let's speed this process up" sorta thing. Sucks, 'cause I was actually really enjoying the book up until that final chapter or so. That's how you know that somewhere a Ka-tet has been broken.
On the subject of terrible endings, I've very much looking forward to the next Sookie Stackhouse novel (comes out in May, I believe), but I really, really hope it isn't anything like the last one.

I'm still reading the Song of Ice and Fire series... I'm well into the second book A Clash of Kings.
A clash of kings indeed! I think so far about 6 or 7 people have claimed themselves as king... and at least two of them are already dead.
Where I'm up to: Stannis Baratheon just marched on King's Landing, the outcome of which I'm not sure yet... the Hound just buggered off and abandoned the Lannisters, and I think Sansa is an idiot for not going with him. I have a lot more sympathy for Sansa than I used to though.
Theon Greyjoy has taken Winterfell, but it's not doing him much good, and he PRETENDED to kill Bran and Rickon... I couldn't believe it when it first said they were dead, I'm glad it isn't true. I dont think he will hold it for long somehow. Theon is an idiot.
Jon Snow and the Watch are running on their toes back to the Wall as they've seen what the wildlings are doing, and cant hope to beat them with their meagre force. I bet Jon is going to come to regret letting that girl go free.
I love that they can share dreams with the direwolves. Jon and Bran are the only ones who've done it so far but I bet all of the Stark children can do it (except for poor Sansa because Lady is dead). And I wont believe Nymeria is gone for good unless we see her body.
Speaking of Nymeria, Arya is easily my favourite character. I like Tyrion Lannister a lot too, but Arya is the best. "Weasel Soup" She always continues to surprise and impress me. As of where I'm up to, she just escaped from Harrenhall with Hot Pie and Gendry.
I hope she and Nymeria are re-united one day... and I hope she gets Needle back.

Not really a spoiler, but the funniest happening in ASOS is:
The conversation between Samwell and Dolorous Edd concerning cooked "pork."
Anyway, I'm reading "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days" by Jeff Kinney.
Also, "Super Immunity:The Essential Nutrition Guide for Boosting Your Body's Defenses to Live Longer, Stronger, and Disease Free" by Joel Fuhrman. I only learned of it yesterday, watching the evening news. It's apparently banned from several library systems across Georgia. Then, today, I visit Shop Mode on my Nook, and the three volumes of the trilogy are filling spots 1, 2, and 3 of the B&N Top 100.
I see the books have over four stars, read the reviews of the first book, and the first page is full of mostly negative comments.
But, it gets worse. This story is supposedly actually just an Edward/Bella Twilight fanfiction (with BDSM, I might add). From an Anonymous comment on the B&N user-review page on the first book:
Sorry to burst anyone's bubble on this, but this book was originally Twilight fanfiction posted on a fanfiction website. It is based on Stephenie Meyer's Edward and Bella. The original name for this story is Master of the Universe. If you google "Master of the Universe PDF" you will find the original and you can read it for FREE.
The author took the names Edward and Bella and traded them for Christian and Anastasia.
Personally, I think it is highly unethical that this author, whose fanfiction penname was 'SnowqueensIcedragon,' used a real author's characters and fan base to gain popularity. She had thousands of readers, and the only reason the story was so popular was because the readers wanted Edward and Bella. And then there was the added bonus of smut, which was appealing in itself for the lack thereof in Stephenie Meyer's version. There is no real plot to this story as you will read in other reviews.
Don't waste your money when you can read the exact same thing for free with the intended characters. This so called author was just looking to pawn off another author's work to make a quick buck. Yeah, there's so much moral there.
Sincerely,
A concerned reader who is trying to save you from becoming a fool

That's actually interesting. Who would've thought Meyer would inspire sh8tty novels?
