View Full Version : They shot the dog

I heard this over the radio and was wondering how everyone would react.
Apparantly, a survivor of one of the deadliest navy battles had a dog given to him to help him recover. He named it 'dixie' or something like that to honor his fallen friends.
He had been doing fine, was on his ranch, retired, and he hears a gunshot. He runs outside and sees his dog dead after trying to run away from a tresspassing truck with like, four or five guys in it, one of which had a gun. So did the retired seal. He chased after them at about 110mph and called the cops pretty much saying 'When I catch these guys, **** is going down.'
Have no idea what happened after that though, I had to go to work.

Yeha Iheard this. THe guy was a SEAL during Operation Redwing where he was the only surviving member. He was sheltered in a small village until he could be evacuated. He wrote a book called"Lone Survivor; The Eye Witness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of SEAL Team 10 ".
When talking wiht the deputy he asked.
"Do you know who I am?"
Deputy: Yes i Do sir.
"You might want to explain to these punks because I could have killed them 600 different ways and if I wanted to kill you guys after what you would have done what you just did to my dog, I would have pulled you down into my basement and I would have tortured you for days and you wouldn't have died until you begged me for death. So before you start saying you're going to come after me, you better learn who you've just whose dog you just killed."
This man is a HERO and so are his fallen brethren
"Attacked at home
On April 1, 2009, four teenage males approached Luttrell's property and fatally wounded his dog, Dasy, with a .357 Magnum revolver at approximately 1 A.M.
Each letter of the name "DASY" represents one of the fallen members of his team -- Daniel "Danny" Dietz, Matthew "Axe" Axelson, Southern boy (Marcus), and Michael "Yankee" Murphy. She was given to him in recovery to help him through rehabilitation.
Luttrell proceeded to follow the individuals through three counties in his truck -- apparently armed with two 9 mm Berettas -- until Onalaska Police apprehended the individuals. Upon arrest, the suspects verbally threatened Luttrell's life and taunted him. Alfonso Hernandez was arrested on-scene for driving without a valid drivers license and later charged with animal cruelty. Michael Edmonds turned himself in on April 7, was booked, and posted bond on the same charge. The other two individuals were not indicted. The males are also suspects in the killings of other neighborhood canines"

He didn't plan on killing them, if he did he would have done it right away. If he did the (liberal) media would go apeshit on the poor scarred war hero and make his life hell.

Excuse me but if some guy went crazy and started killing people (for whatever reason) it doesn't matter who they are they ought to go to prison for it...!!! Forget what "the media" thinks, remember what the laws of your country state!
If anything, that man needs some kind of rehabilitation into civilian life, if he can fly off the handle like that.

^I disagree, Navy SEALS are way too cool to be subjected to any of our sappy civilian laws.
'Sides, they drew first blood, not him.

Damn, my mom met that guy once or twice.
But it's not like he is prone to flying off the handle though. He's a SEAL. They're not trained to give in to emotion, after all...I think this just hit him especially hard.

Needs to watch Rambo :First blood more often.
That whole story is about a Vietnam war vet who comes home to find that it's just another war on his homeland when he's trying to find a sence of peace.
If you don't care about what he's done in the past few years you deserve whatever that man has to say about you. If he tortures you that's your fault.
There is only one cure for post traumatic stress, and that's time. Leave the ****ing guy alone and you wont have any problems.

I know exactly the story you guys are talking about. I say good for him!
I felt sorry for the guy and I truly meen that.
These punks got what was comming! These guys are nothing less then murdering thugs. In fact when they showed the mug shots on glenn beck i can tell these were nothing more then young thug punks. No remorse for killing his puppy (whitch btw guys was a dog rescued from afganistan) and all the other dogs they got a laugh at killing that same night.
You have to understand guys he chased them down at 100+ mph..it took this guy 4 counties in TX..4 counties before the cops were able to bust them! At the end the thugs were laughing about the whole thing. They really think they were untouchable and made death threats on the ex seal.
Because of this incident the congress in texas finnaly approved some laws to prevent senseless pet killings like this to not go with just a slap on the wrist anymore. There gonna get the book thrown at them and i hope its for a very very long time!
I'm sorry guys theres no humor in this tale or in my post. This story made me pissed. And if your a pet lover you would too.

how so? The story would be the same even if it wasn't covered by Glenn Beck, Who I enjoy because he is an old school republican like myself (close to what a libertarian use to be).
It presented the story in a factual way. So don't start

And laughed at him.

As i said earlier he was the last surviving member of his SEAL team after they took fire during Operation Redwing on land. The dogs name was a make up of all the letters of his team mates names.

Well this story is real man. And again like i said no humor about it whatsoever.
(fyi for anyone glenn is not a journilist. He does radio and on TV by voicing his opinion. Just being kind enough to clear up any misunderstandings. and yes im a fan of Beck. proud fan i might add. )
