However there's more to it than that, and its unique in the fact that the content you create can be sold for tangible money.

I'm probably one of those weird people that uses it for wierd ****, seeing as i'm not a human in the game and haven't been since about 2 hours after my creation date. I've made my own unique content and even run a business or two in game, but the real life money isn't really all there as of yet.

Hmmm Games entitle you to sign up for a subscription.

Games also have a set story and direction resulting in ending content like the ending of a movie.

Second life is free, and basically has no point other then to communicate with out people, but at the same time utilize tools and graphic design tips to create a virtual world in which you participate in as if it were a real world practicality.

You pay for Lindens with real world money, some resulting in spending hundreds.

No I can't say I would agree that Second Life is a game.

It's more like a Shopping Mall for the mobile challenged.

Actually the main Island is land owned by Linden Labs, and after visiting it for a while I've noticed that Linden has some good graphic talent in their designing, it might not be the most detailed, but I've seen worse.

Yeah but you're still making progress in the game, Second Life, you could sit for hours dancing and make absolutly nothing.

I make a faster income in RL then I do in SL, therefore SL is more than just a lazy useless thing to me.

I have to say, even if you strip away the harsh language, this is still true. Whatever appeal a person might see in Second Life, it's not a game. There aren't any real rules or goals, so it doesn't qualify.

Yeah. I ain't saying that there's no value in it; for me personally there's no value, but that's not the case for everyone. I'm just saying that it falls under a different category than 'game'. If a person was a skilled 3D modeller, they could probably make some money out of it...

I think the one thing that it fails in, is learning the 3d modeling techniques to make it of any profitable value.

I would much rather work on the top grade 3d modeling programs in a physical classroom with an instructor taking me through the steps carefully, then to have to read about it on a lighted screen, my attention span is limited but I will follow along and remember well what you make me do hands on.

I failed as a 3d designer on Second Life, and that was my prime goal of looking at it, but since I couldn't turn it into a successful venture, it is no more useless to me than a 200 dollar video game I'll never fully be satisfied with.

... whatever people do on SL is their business and should not be brought out into RL, not every place in Second Life associates with the furies either, and so SL might have it's own rules and guidelines within different Sims.

Treat SL as if you were going to Las Vagas in RL, whatever happens in Second Life, should stay in Second Life.
