I gotta say in my life I've heard of some pretty bizarre things. This is defently something you don't hear about everyday.
Just comes to show you how life is pretty unpredictable.
Still seriously after a score like this would you take a forfeit. I would say no and the reason why is whats the point if you didn't play to begin with.
Just take the score and learn from it. You only improve if you learn from mistakes right?
Anyways whats perhapes the most bizarre thing you would have to say that has happened?

Either the winning team was really good or the losing team really sucked.

Highschool Baseball? well there's the problem right there.
Bizarre? Ringing up a $100.00 even transaction at my grocery store.
that's like winning the lottery or something.

Bizarre sports related thing in my life?
When I was in 10th grade, my first day of P.E. class was a free day, so people grabbed basketballs and such and just started shooting hoops in the gym.
I started playing with some guys, and I made a 3 pointer. Another guy gave me "change" so I shot again (from a different spot) and made the 2nd shot. I ended up making 6 in a row, and all the guys around me wanted me to join the basketball team.
The only reason this story is bizarre is because I'm not good at basketball. It was just freakish luck that I made 6 in a row, since I can probably make 1 three pointer out of 10 shots, usually.
Oh wait I thought of another one (may have already told this story on AN before).
I can't remember if it was 9th or 10th grade, but I decided to go to the Tennis team tryouts. Tennis was my best sport, and I had been playing since I was 10 years old or so.
The tryouts were being held at a tennis center that had maybe 6 or 7 courts. Quite a few people showed up, so they randomly assigned the players, 4 to a court. I ended up being on the farthest left court (they were in a row). The coach them explained that the farthest right court was the "Top Court", and players would play half court games to advance. Long story short (I say that a lot don't I?), I ended up beating every person I played against, and I made it to the "Top Court" right as the tryouts ended. The coach never even noticed me because he was watching the top court the entire time, and I wasn't picked for the team. I was a bit mad at the whole ordeal, but in the grand scheme of things I was happy because I was more of a gamer and playing tennis would have cut into my RPG playing days in the PS1 era haha.

The other day, I had a 50 dollar grocery voucher, so I went to the shop. Without adding up anything in my head, I managed to get all the items to total at $50.04. Luckily in this country 4 cents rounds down to the nearest dollar, so I was sweet :D

This happened to a girl on my swim team: At the beginning of a race, she slips off the starting block and cuts her foot. Its only a 50 yard race (1 lap) so she digs in, swims the race and wins. It was so badass.
I can't think of any more at the moment, but that one sticks out in my mind because it happened last week.

It was "special" school with 20 people in it. They actually forfieted the game to them. I can't say I blame them either. I would not want to be known as the school that beasted the shortbus girls of Tard High either.

I think he means its bizarre because of the "perfect" 100-0 score. Its not really that common y'know. ;)

100 the number? OK, that makes sense... but in order to score zero points in basketball, you must suck immensely.

The losing team wasn't exactly full of healthy kids, anyway. They basically beat down on a bunch of handicapped kids.

They would probably prefer them to play normally then to show them pity and throw the game.

It sounded to me like it was just some kids with dyslexia and short attention spans. I don't think either of those really affects your sports abilities.

They showed pity post game, after being ridiculed for blowing out the slow kids.

It is hard to tell from the article. With 20 people I doubt they have mild handicaps. It sounds like a dumping ground for the hopless.

Still guys even though this team had a disadvantage..your telling me that they couldn't at least score one basket..just one basket?
I have heard of shut outs in hockey, baseball, football and other kinds of sports where shut outs are posssable..but in basketball? Thats a first for me.
Anyways thanks for your thoughts everyone and keep posting any thoughts of bizzare things you've seen/read in your life. I think I'm gonna go post now about the goat now. Thats quite an intresting tale.

Beating a very inferior team 100-0 is nothing to brag about. Now beating a top of the nation team 100-0 is. It actually leaves a bad taste in my mouth to think that you would just continue playing after it's so obvious that you have won the game. Just forfeit after it's beyond completing. Not good sportmanship.

I say congrats to the winning team.
And I also say good job to the losing team.
Neither side gave up. The winners didn't show mercy, and the losers gave it their all. That's all you can say about the situation. If you want to get into a disscusion about morals and such, take it up with a preacher or lawyer for all I care. It's supposed to be about having fun, not caring if your *** gets handed to you, and being a good sport. I blame the parents for this story. LOL

I wasn't going to comment on this (because frankly I don't care about basketball) but I saw a piece on the 'controversy' in the newpaper today...
And my reaction cannot be written here without me being censored.
What the FRELL is all this talk about honor and mercy rules?! I find this utterly ridiculous! That victory was perfectly honorable! You know why? Because the winning team didn't go at it with kids glove just because the poor other team didn't score a point.
Wanting to go easy on a losing team is a dishonor to the loser! It should be perceived as an insult far greater than that 100-0 damnit! In a competition you give your all! That's all there is to it. Sometime you win, sometimes you didn't give enough or your 'all' isn't enough and you lose. There's nothing in those situations you can do except play harder and not give up. A lose is nothing but a growing experience.
Mercy rules...pfff...pity for the weak yeah.
