So, the matter of who the more powerful characters in Naruto are is deep. And I will explain it...

1: Sasuke
2: Itachi
3: Madara
4: Pain
5: Chouji
6: Naruto
7: Fourth Hokage

Sasuke defeated Itachi and got Mangekyo eyes... He is stronger than Itachi now. Itachi is stronger than Madara, as Madara is scared of Itachi. Pain is scared of Madara, so obviously weaker. Chouji can make himself enormous. Too enormous for anyone to do anything to him. But Amaterasu makes Sasuke and Itachi better, Pain's Konoha Killer could probably kill him and Madara got something up his sleeve. Naruto is stronger than Fourth Hokage now, but he got no way to fight with Chouji's enormous powers, and he can only keep up with Pain because Pain is weakened right now and Naruto got info on him by Katsuyu.

There you got it. The most powerful Naruto characters.

Madara Uchiha is freakin' Madara Uchiha. He isn't, nor was ever, afraid of Itachi. Itachi was learning Uchiha knowledge from Madara, and even Madara kept things from him because he didn't trust him. I am sick of people underating Naruto because Naruto has some info on Pain before he got started fighting him. The reason Pain is so strong now is because no one knows anything about him. The one person who did, Jiraya, is dead. It's obvious that Pain has a secret that, if learned, would be his downfall. Hence why he is shrouded in mystery. Sasuke is only now starting to understand what his powers can do, be he has a TON of latent potential (so does Naruto). Tsunande is a WAY better ninja then everyone gives her credit for and Kakashi's Kakashi. Now, on to Chouji.

Wow, Chouji. Really? Chouji? Ok, he gets big. Did you not just see him, his father, AND Kakashi get spanked by God Realm? If he was really so powerful, then explain that. Ok, so he's able to grow really big. Did you not see Naruto stop a summoned RHINO and THROW it thousands of feet into the air with his BARE HANDS? How about those two rasengans that were the size of a freakin' house? I think Naruto could more than handle Chouji, as could Yondaime. I'm also going to touch on Neji. Sure, he's got great vision, and he can see everything around him. Too bad Sasuke, Madara, Pain, and possibly Naruto could make him into a vegitable with genjutsu. If naruto can't do genjutsu (which I seriously doubt at this point) he's insanely fast. If Naruto alone didn't quite have enough to give Naji a serious *****-slap, imagine 100 of him. Yeah....about that 360 vision..... useless when 100 people who are way faster than you are attacking at once.

You make a good point but to tell you the truth Neji, sasuke and gaara are the most powerful. Gaaar has a demon in him just as naruto do and when they went against each other in the first one, no one won that match. Neji was only beat in the first one by naruto because he is the main character. because no one loses after one hit. Sasauke is just a all around poweful person because he heart is filled with hate which make him grow stonger.

You have to think about current powers dude. Sasuke's heart may be full of hate, but Naruto will do anything to save the ones he loves. Garaa no longer has Shukaku, so his chakra pool has undoubtedly diminished.

Neji is just as fast as nauto. He is able to rotate if all 100 attack at once, and then he could do palms on naruto and that will affect him because you can not build up your internal organs

I could argue Naruto has most raw potential power from his huge chakra reserves, clone training level ups, toad sage mode, and 4th hokage genes. He's got many weaknesses though, he's got ADD, he's always been susceptible to genjutsu, some of his best moves may damage himself as much as his opponents, and he doesn't have a killer instinct.
How will Pain and/or Madara really use the power of the captured tails? Or maybe Sasuke steals them for himself if his Sharingan can absorb them or something like he absorbed part of Orochi...
Now if Choji can get up to 2000 Jabba the Hutt type pounds then eat a few dozen chili pepper power ups plus learn to open a few of his lotus gates, watch out.

How can Neji and Gaara be one of the most powerful if Naruto already defeated them?

My top 3 would be:
1. Madara - he knows alot about the history of the Uchiha more than Itachi or Sasuke and he created the Akatsuki.
2. Naruto - He has the Nine-tails, sage mode, etc. Orochimaru couldn't even defeat him when Naruto turned into 4 tailed mini kyuubi.
3. Sasuke - He got mangekyou and some powers from Itachi. I bet Sasuke and Naruto would be almost equal when they meet again...

Amen lol, put it to rest, Itachi may have been stronger than Sasuke but he is dead so he's out, and Gaara and Neji were indeed defeated before by Naruto. Madara is probably the top spot and Pein, Naruto and Sasuke hold second.

@KCets... Naruto is only stronger because the show is about him. The writers have given him infinite chakra. Nobody else has any even remotely like that. Infinite chakra is the only thing that keeps him alive past being a kid. Orochimaru would have killed him in the forest of death, he would have lost to Kiba, he would have lost to Neji, he would have lost to Orochimaru in Shippuuden.

Naruto is like goku. He will never be beaten. Not because he's some god like fighter, but because the writer always gives him a level up. Like Sage mode... what the hell??!!?!? He trains for like two days and he's surpassed Jiraiya, who trained for years?

Thats not Naruto being amazing, thats the writer saying, "I want for Naruto to have cool powers" and he writes whatever illogical nonsense that comes into his mind. Like all the sudden Naruto can throw like 8 Shuriken Rasengans, he handle two rasengans at once, her can throw like 90 ton rhino's 50ft in the air.

They've hacked Naruto as much as they hacked Sasuke when they gave him that Star of David Magic Eye 9000 that makes him invincible. Naruto is strong, but only because the show/manga defies all logic that its setup and makes him invincible.

As far as Madara... that guy is a joke FACT.
- He can do the Itachi thing and send people to alternate dimensions where he controls time and space.
- The kyuubi with 4 tails gets hit with a legendary sword that can pierce through anything and rides that sword like 500 feet in the air and is grinded against like 1000ft of forest land... and still can't be pierced. Meanwhile a magic eye can spit fire that takes out an 8 tailed best with all 8 tails out. A magic eye that Madara has.
- He can teleport his own body so that your attacks never hit him
- He has ultra high level sharringan and can see and react to INSANELY high speed attacks.

Madara has all of this and still lost a fight. Theres no excuse. You have to be like the worst ninja ever when you have all of this and you are still losing battles.

Naruto was able to surpass Jiraiya because he mastered Kage Bunshin while learning to tap into Kyuubi's chakra to make more clones than the average ninja (something Jiraiya gave him the ability to do when he altered Naruto's seal). That's the difference between a young and inexperienced Jiraiya and a thriving Naruto.

Naruto's quick progression is down to 2 things -

1. His never-ending desire to become Hokage (obviously)

2. And the fact that he has experienced and elite ninja like Jiraiya and Kakashi around to point him in the right direction.

Akatsuki took the demon from inside of him and they still have it. When he came back to life the demon had already been taken from his body so he is now living without the demon inside of him, he's a normal boy now.

Everyone else is way below as far as I can tell.

Naruto may end up defeating Pain, but he will do it with the help of some of the most powerful Frogs on his side.

At this point Naruto is stronger than Jiraya was when he was alive.
Sasuke may have beaten Orochimaru, but he hasn't proven himself above Naruto, and we can estimate him to be weaker for now.

Madara is most definately stronger than Pain, otherwise he wouldn't be in control (unless there is some plot device we discover later).

I believe you are all wrong only slightly except OP thats waaaaay off. Here it is:

1. Madara Uchiha - I mean seriously, why he isn't 1 on every list I don't know.

2. Naruto Uzamaki - With the power of newly found sage mode and the use of actual tactics recently I can not argue against him being here.

3. Sauske Uchiha/ Shikumaru Nara - I'm only putting Sasuke here because he is apparently the main character for several chapters and can only assume he is more powerful than we can see at this moment. Shikamaru because he can probably outsmart the hell out of Sasuke and flat kill him. It is like the Batman/Superman arguement. If Shikamru knows you are coming you are screwed. Also speed doesn't matter when trapped in Kagemane no Jutsu. Haven't even seen him in a power poll. Way underrated.

5. Tsunade - The combination of her powers is one of the most underrated combos out there. Healing plus Super Strength and other offensive capabilities. She can beat people up and heal? Really? Damn.

6. Pain - Clever hiding bastard. Only problem I see with him is why didn't a Byakugan user see his line back to his real self like Naruto followed with sage mode? Aren't there like all kinds of them in Konoha? Wouldn't this been a nice use of Neji post-jump finally?
I mean come on, shouldn't Hinata have seen that crap?

7. Kakashi Hatake - The copy ninja with use of his sharingan and blinding jutsu speed not many are his better when he is on his game.

I just dont believe we have seen enough of the other characters to get a fair assessment. Will they ever use Neji again? Who knows......
