So it looks like my previous assumption was correct. An arc dedicated to giving Jiraya screentime before he dies, and a little side-action for Sasuke (who hasn't gotten much screentime). The thing that got me this episode was the new ending.... ROFLMAO!

I suppose, but I'm going to be a little harsh in saying that Jiraya's approaching demise has been out to the public for a while now. The vast majority of people who are big fans of the Naruto universe (which I assume people who are frequently interacting on forums like this are) already know that Jiraya is dead. It was just way too big of a deal to NOT get around, and it's had tons of time to travel.

Out of respect for others, you should at least put it in spoiler tags, especially in an anime thread, since non-manga readers will avoid manga threads but enter anime threads. The spoiler tags are simple to use too.

When I see threads about early manga spoilers, I don't enter those threads until after I've read the raw. Those who don't read the manga, most likely don't enter manga threads at all either.

so jariya is going to die in the next episode because i seen that episode and he tried to teach gamariki and naruto to cooperate together.

Jiraiya won't be dead for a good minute. I agree with Kcets, but I thought it was moreso to a memorial to the best character in the whole Naruto universe: Orochimaru.

They've given him a good bit of screen time in every episode, making these some of the best Naruto episodes ever. I know its a pipe dream because he's near dead and his body is rejecting him, but i'd love to see them give him another all out fight like him vs the kyuubi. I've never seen a naruto fight that was on that high a level and that cool before. Even when Naruto fought Gaara, it wasn't as interesting as this was. Zero flashbacks, no sappiness about being lonely, just insanely disturbing and high level jutsu from two insane level creatures: Orochimaru and the Kyuubi.

Jiraiya won't be dead for a good while. In Shippuuden they always do fillers when we are approaching a character death. If anything this filler arc is to focus a bit on Orochimaru before he's killed by Sasuke. Also, there's no need to focus on Sasuke, he'll have about 5 arcs deticated to him later. From looking at how long he was focused on in the Manga. So, I don't think it's about giving Sasuke screetime so much as Orochimaru and other characters that aren't shown often, and don't get much credit.
