There's a new girl in town.

An Australian woman has appeared in court in Adelaide charged with murdering her husband by setting fire to his penis.

Rajini Narayan, 44, is alleged to have doused her husband, Satish, with a flammable liquid while he was sleeping.

When she set him alight, Mr Narayan jumped out of bed and knocked over the substance, causing the fire to spread.

Mrs Narayan told the court she had not intended to kill her husband but to punish him for his alleged infidelity.

Prosecutor Lucy Boord said Mrs Narayan had confessed to her neighbours, telling them she was a "jealous wife" and believed her husband was having an affair.

"I just wanted to burn his penis so it belongs to me and no one else, I didn't mean this to happen," Ms Boord quoted Mrs Narayan as saying.

The fire, on 8 December 2008, caused damage to the couple's house estimated at 1m Australian dollars ($715,000, £490,000).

Mrs Narayan was initially charged with arson and endangering life - including the lives of her three children who were in the house at the time.

The charge was upgraded to murder after Mr Narayan died from his injuries last week.

She has been held in police custody pending the results of a psychological assessment.

...hmmm. creativity? i think not.

all women want to burn penises at some time in their lives. you KNOW it.

but creative would be to slather wrap it with bacon and unleash some tasmanian devils. but burning? man has been messing with fire for the longest time. it's boring. unless a clown set the ++++ on fire, then it would be creative AND badass.

Whenever my mum cooks sausages, she always seems to burn them black. They tend to taste ok all the same, somehow. They just look inedible.

I just figured maybe she likes them better like that.

She managed to not completely char them to obliteration when she cooked some over Christmas. Maybe she didn't feel like she needed to send out a warning?

I have been wondering why she would set fire to her husband's genitals because of suspected infidelity. I'm thinking maybe the way she found out her husband had been cheating on her was that he'd caught something and she too experienced a terrible burning sensation in her private parts, and thought this would be appropriate revenge. Or something.

Course, if they let you do it it's one thing. Yeah people suck, but that's where our fight for survival comes in. Paranoia is something I have to balance out, I know not ever woman is like that, and I offer as much respect to woman as I can as long as I'm treated with equal respect back.

Desslock, seriously? She loves/ed him, she's accepting of all his flaws (well, the burnt penis not the cheating thing). Appearance is everything (or a lot) in most new relationships, no other broad will love him like that...not after she sees that penis. Unless, of course, he's rich. Still, that fire had to have screwed things up down there...he ain't lookin' at no other chicks. Hmm, the tenses are off, but you all know what I mean! :angry:

I'm not saying it never happens, I'm just saying I'm not the only one who thinks justification for legal action should be singled out to the male population.

Just becuase woman have a history of being the victim in a crime doesn't mean they are not likely to do a criminal act themselves.
