Lake Superior State University has release their list of banned words
http://www.lssu.edu/banished/current.php
"It's that time of year again!"
Lake Superior State University "maverick" word-watchers, fresh from the holiday "staycation" but without an economic "bailout" even after a "desperate search," have issued their 34th annual List of Words to Be Banished from the Queen's English for Mis-use, Over-use and General Uselessness. This year's list may be more "green" than any of the previous lists and includes words and phrases that people from "Wall Street to Main Street" say they love "not so much" and wish to have erased from their "carbon footprint."
I can live without green.

Even though it hasn't been around for long, I'm already tired of "carbon footprint". Every editorial I read that related even the least bit to environmental issues used it... and, even worst, many writers use the term in a way that just screamed "Look at me! Aren't I clever for using this cutting edge term?!". That became really tiresome after seeing it the fifth or sixth time.
I have to admit that I don't even know what "staycation" means... well, I can guess at it ("stay" + "vacation" = "staycation"; a vacation where you don't actually travel much?), but I certainly never heard it/read it much.
