i just listened to all three escaflowne ost's, and i thought they just sucked compared to her more recent stuff. I LOVE bebop, ghost in the shell (SAC and 2nd gig), and Darker than Black.

Anymore albums of her that are more bebop, gits, and darker, and less escaflowne?

Maybe it's because she co-wrote some of the Escaflowne music with her husband?

I agree with you that the escaflowne wasn't THAT great of a collection. I think Wolf's Rain was a bit overrated too.

Although there are a handful of shared tracks between Bebop and Macross Plus, Bebop's is obviously skewed more towards jazz and blues, while Macross Plus has a more grandiose/heroic motif because of the anime's focus of "daring test pilots". You've got some melancholy bits, mostly Myung-related, and techno-creepy for Sharon Apple. I can't remember too many more details offhand, and there are some forgettable tracks, but IIRC it was one of the first anime I shelled out money to get the OST uncluttered by dialogue, and I also recommend it.

Thanks Bradster. I picked-up the Macross Plus OST's last week. Good stuff, especially the songs that play during the dogfights. The "National Anthem of Macross" was cool, too.
Still, Cowboy Bebop's soundtrack is my fav work from Kanno. I don't think she'll ever top it....

Her Turn A Gundam OSTs are my personal favorite, its a bit of a strange mix between lots of classical and some primal stuff. Kinda offbeat though, not sure if you'd like them.
