You answered your own question of " is buying naruto worth it?" by stating "i just can't myself to watch naruto over and over".

There's only so many reasons to buy dvd's for a series. One is if you really like the series and you want to watch it over again. Another is if you just want to own something you like, whether you plan on rewatching it again or not. A third is if you just want to support the industry (which should still be releated to the second, as you're not going to buy something you don't like just to be supportive). Of these 3, you've already made obvious that you're not the first. If you were either or both of the other 2, you wouldn't be asking in the first place. That leads me to believe that, no, for you, Naruto is not worth buying.

I like naruto, not the best for me, but one of the best. I think it' s a good worth buying it. I always do that to own something I like. I think it' s worth it.

The only thing the CN airing sliced away from the original episodes, as far as I could tell from the limited amount I watched on there (I followed this series through the box sets, though I did watch the early episodes on CN before the box sets started coming out), was blood. The CN airing was tailored specifically to the 6-14 demo that the channel aims for...edits were to be expected.

Buy box sets 1 -10, then jump to the Shippuden episodes streaming at Viz's Naruto site. That'll keep you in the canon story which will make the experience overall, more enjoyable, and you'll save some bucks not having to get the filler sets. Best of all, it'll all be uncut. The box sets DO have the Japanese track, if that's your voice preference.

The boxsets are all relatively cheap. If you shop around you can get them for 50-75% of the regular price.

buy only the sets that have the really good episodes you want to see again. Or just rewatch them on streaming sites like crunchyroll, and hulu (is that allowed, since streaming would be competing with AN dvd sales?)

I got the first box set and decided that I should just pick up the manga instead. But its really up to you, whether you want to put money into buying DVDs.

i remember i bought tons of dvd of miyu the vampire princess little by little... one by one. back then i was a noob! i forgot to think that its a serie which will take many many episodes! which means ill be wasting lots of money on dvds!

i got like 7,8,9 dvds of it. each dvds has 3 eps. i finally decided to stop buying it. waste of money. the episodes are too many.

i only buy anime that is short... like a movie anime... 1hour anime... 2 hour anime... that finish the whole story in one dvd.... like saya the vampire girl, apple seed, midnight panther, ninja scroll, kite, mezzo forte(movie) ect....

naruto episodes are now over 400 episodes inlcuding shippuuden! itll be lots of money if u buy the whole thing. and some of the eps are not even in dvd yet.

It's only right to support the product, but unlike some of us you sat through commercials to watch it legally on CN so you've paid your dues. I tend to find anything important in Naruto is brought up multiple times, but it certainly does have its moments. I can't imagine myself rewatching it outside of a couple episodes though.

At the end of the day, the market's so saturated with product it's a tough call. But it's yours. Naruto's pretty aggressively priced, but I tend to buy stuff I haven't seen yet or shorter series myself.

Many years ago I bought up everything I remotely liked or expected to, but now I own a whole bunch of dvd's I'll never watch again, so I tend to be a bit more selective now.

oh yeah thats right theres a free legal stream of all naruto latest eps like kaoru said. watch for free! from an anime publisher company called viz. free for all usa to watch!

but somehow it seems that its one eps late from latest eps.

That's better than being a hundred episodes behind.:)

Even though I may not watch my Naruto DVDs except on a few occasions, I buy them to support the series in the U.S. Since it's a favorite series of mine, I might as well, right? Even so, they are nice to have around when introducing people to the series.

That me. They put up all of the old series on Hulu and when you watch the HQ stream it looks as good as the DVD version. When I did that comparison, I felt like I hate wasted my money on a boxset but then it was like, nah. I've had so many good times with Naruto that they deserve to get some money from me.

Thats what it really comes down to for me. I don't even watch my DVDs cuz its faster to go on Hulu and not have to watch like 4 minutes of forced New Type and videogame ads, but I still buy the boxsets that have my favorite episodes just to support the show.

If Naruto is just another show, then yeah it probably isn't worth it to buy it. You can get DVD quality versions legally for free. But if you're a a real deal fan of Naruto, I think it definitely is worth the price. But that goes for any show.

Well buying them on DVD is better than watching it on Cartoon Network. On tv, they edit out alot of things in order to make it suitable for kids. But, on the DVD you can watch all the cursing, blood, and without commercials.

The edits are minor. There is no cursing in that show. Even in Japan, its still aimed at like 8 years olds. The "cursing" was just a fansub group trying to make it sound cooler. As far as blood, they show blood on Cartoon Network. The episode I saw that made me fall in love with the show was CN and it had Gaara making some guys explode into a pile of bloody sand on screen.

The only edits are stuff like erasing cigarettes or calling alcohol "elixir"... which really doesn't have an effect on anything. Its not like the Rock Lee vs Kimimaro fight was animated poorly and didn't look cool because Rock Lee goes crazy from drinking "elixir" rather than sake.

They edit out most of the blood, and there's cursing in it, uncut. That's not the main reason, but it's a benefit to watch it uncut, as opposed to cartoon network.
