Just when you thought episode 82 was your favorite Shippuuden episode because it captured the feel of the manga, the same episode director takes this episode, builds on that potential and gives us possibly the best episode in Naruto altogether.
This episode was just wonderful to watch. Everything was so fluid: taijutsu being emphasized while not spamming ninjutsus all over the place, Kakashi being down but certainly not out, Shikamaru planning everything down to a T, Hidan, Kakuzu... Pure perfection. And the filler in this episode has to be the best filler ever seen in an anime, they couldn't have done a better job coming up with the filler here.
The perfect distraction from the manga at the moment.
But unfortunately it's business as usual next episode, and it looks like this team might not take another episode (they were guests, freelancing). If only they could afford to pay these guys for every episode.
Your thoughts?

Very exciting episode. The action and moments were so seamless that i really felt anything could happen at second which is a nice change from the typical standing around shonen battles. Hearing that they are not longer supporting the people working on the past 2 episode (didn't even know they used new people) makes me unhappy but we can't expect this treatment for such a long series.
Still looking for forward to next weeks episode which is a nice feeling to have.

It's not that they aren't going to continue to support this director and his staff, it's just that they mainly come in during specific episodes due to various reasons. They've done a handful of Naruto episodes in the past. Sasuke vs Orochimaru in the forest of death, Lee vs Gaara, Naruto vs Sasuke, and now these past two recent episodes. They may have done the Sakura and Chiyo vs Sasori battle, but I recall that one being done by a different team mimicking this director's style.
I can definitely see multiple chances for these guys to come back and work on some certain episodes in the future. I can think of more than a few chances for epic battles that could make use of this style of animation and choreography to the fullest.

This show has gotten its mojo back.
Sasori was done well, but since even the canonical parts almost turned me to the manga exclusively. They've done the manga well since a certain someone bit it.

It certainly hit a lull, but I'm glad to see the recent episodes have once again got me hooked and excited xD. A superb fight and though I wasn't initially a Kakuzu fan, this episode certainly made him seem awesome. I just hope Deidara's, Itachi's, Pein's and the other fights are this good.

With you in complete, hands down...best episode yet. When the special is out in a few days I'm expecting more...but for now this is one of the best.
You see everyone in action as well as how newb Choji and Ino really are...
