what do people think is going to happen? I see a kakashi flashback coming in this chapter, either to build up the drama if he survives, or to give him an emotional send off if he dies

I know a few non-manga readers may click on this thread anyway so I'm going to wrap up my entire post in spoiler tags. Read at your own expense, you have been warned.
Kakashi won't die. Kishi has put the manga on temporary hiatus because he needs to pull something out of his *** and save Kakashi. There's no real narrative continuity from killing Kakashi, not any useful one anyway.
When you look at Jiraiya's situation compared to this, Kishi's absolutely undermining Kakashi in every way possible. Killing Jiraiya served as narrative continuity because he figured out Pain's secret at the cost of his life and put it in code for Naruto, it also serves as more motivation for Naruto. Jiraiya's death, while very sad, was logical and should prove a crucial sacrifice in the long run.
With that said - what purpose does Kakashi's death serve to the narrative continuity? Absolutely none considering the circumstances of his supposed death. It's especially illogical for Kishi to kill Chouji's dad and Kakashi in the span of two chapters. Nothing comes out of it except very emotional fans (including me) ranting.

What makes you think we get to see his face? Nothing suggests that.

Ooh, I just thought of something.... this chapter starts off with a flashback to a young Kakashi with Rin and Obito (specifically, Obito pinned under the boulder and giving his sharingan to Kakashi). So with this in mind, wouldn't they HAVE to animate the Kakashi Gaiden before animating this part of the series? This is a flashback to previously seen events; without animating the Kakashi Gaiden, this flashback scene has no real meaning to the those who don't read the manga (in the context of the anime). I don't know why it hasn't been animated yet, but hopefully this'll force them to do so.
