Nadesico episode 26 *SPOILERS*

Okay, not sure if it should fit here, but...

I'm a little confused by the ending of Martian Successor Nadesico (TV series).

How did the Nadesico stealing that boson jump "computer" was meant to stop/halt the war anyhow? Or how would it lead to an uneasy peace by the start of the movie? All I can understand is that with both sides on Mars, but with no weapon worth fighting for, there would be a peace.

Am I right? Someone clear this please...

I think the main reason they gave was that

Without the Boson jumping device neither side could effectively wage war on the other, remember Earth and Jupiter aren't exactly next door... it took them weeks (?) to get to Mars. The Jovian's favourite tactic was to jump in lots of automated mechs, now that they can't jump and have to risk their own soldiers lives they are probably less inclined to fight.

I think the above explanation is right but, ohh there's so much more.

You should read first, then watch the movie. You need to find out what happens between the series and hte movie before watching it. A lot happens.

The thumbnail theater was pretty funny. I didn't realize the game had explained some of those things. They really should have simply done another season instead of breaking thing sup between game, movie, and game.

Yeah, they should have. would have been great imho. Supposedly, there was supposed to be 3 movies, but hte first and third got made in to video games instead. Some disagreements involving director, studio etc.
