Well if you look at all the Pein summons they all have piercings, this one doesn't. Looking back at it now I don't think fatty is dead, maybe if it was Tsunade that punched him into the grown then yes.

Well if you look at all the Pein summons they all have piercings, this one doesn't.Whether it's a summon or just some type of power this Pein has, the eye being shown through the window is of the thing standing behind the Pein on the bottom.

It's probably a technique similar to Itachi's Susanoo (in manifestation, not ability); as opposed to a summon (1, that's not the summoning body, and 2, there are no piercings in it). Going out on a limb here, but maybe that thing is Izanagi, from which Amaterasu, Tsukiyomi, and Susanoo were spawned (in mythology) - keeping in line that the Rinnegan is the most powerful doujutsu, it stands to reason (to me at least).

you guessed right about the piercings that time, so I am going to say you could be right this time, we know how much kishi likes his mythology

So anyone want to take a guess on God Pein's power. Seeing that he repelled Kakashi's jutsus and was also able to draw Kakashi in, sorta like Magneto except he uses chakra.

I agree that he's something a kin to Marvel's Magneto. Where as Magneto could, for example, control Wolverine's movements by controling his adamantium using his magnetic powers, Pein can probably control/disrupt someone in the world of Naruto using their own chakra. Though unlike Magneto, Pein needs a medium first. The Pein bodies are probably being controled by Nagato through their chakra jewelry, and the "God Pein" was controling/disrupting Kakashi's (and Jiraiya's) chakra AFTER he stabbed them with his weapon, which is also probably a chakra receiver (though in this case, it received the opponents chakra). "God Pein" hasn't been shown to do much otherwise though (so he probably doesn't specialize in any attack jutsu's or techniques). He's probably just Nagato's body of choice on the battlefield; he may feel a certain affinity with Yahiko's body since they were friends.

perhaps God peins name actually indicates some of his actual power, with nothing to do with the recievers. perhaps them eyes of his cancel all ninjutsu and genjutsu

I was wondering what Nagato's state of being is though. He's controlling 6 bodies, and each one of those under his control specialize in a different ability, which I assume are all HIS abilities (not originally belonging to the body). Controlling these 6 bodies must require an insane amount of chakra. I'm left to think that Nagato's real body right now is hooked up to some kind of machine that is supplying him with a (never ending?) supply of chakra, and I imagine it has a chakra transmission antennae on it, sending his control signals to the 6 bodies. I just can't imagine it being other than this; can you picture Nagato floating above the clouds in a blimp controlling them? I sure can't. So if he IS hooked up to or is in some kind of machine, what exactly is protecting him and it? It can't just be left defenseless no matter where it is. I feel that no matter how powerful Nagato is as the 6 Pein bodies, his body by itself is probably weak, and certainly can't control all of those abilities by itself (thus the need for 6 bodies). I bet it'll be Shizune who figures out where the real body is. Since she discovered that the pins are chakra receivers, maybe she'll find a way to trace it back to the source (there's really no other way to now where the real body is).

I'm also left wondering if THIS (read that as PEIN) is the reason Naruto's Rasenshuriken (RS) and Hermit Mode (HM) were introduced. Kishimoto gives him RS, which is an attack which does massive amounts of damage by severing chakra tubes, but he can't continue to use it because of the damage it does to himself. Next thing you know, HM comes into play, and Naruto masters it. Presumably, when in HM, Naruto won't damage himself when using the RS, and he can also throw it long distances. So here we are going to end up with Naruto who can probably throw an attack that severes chakra tubes versus the 6 Paths of Pein, and I bet the only way to defeat them is to severe their chakra connections to Nagato. We all knew it would be Naruto vs Pein eventually, but this actually looks like Kishimoto had this planned out for a while (not that I doubted him having plans to some degree , but I wasn't sure where everything was going). I also think that the RS became a throwing technique (is this the first THROWN technique in Naruto?) because that's probably the only way to fight Pein. Close combat doesn't seem too effective, as Pein has defenses against that (summons, absorbing jutsu, now we have the 'ghost removal' and 'spirit being'), not to mention the 'if he stabs you he controls you' thing.

I'm pretty sure that Pein has some remaining bodies around just in case they find his real body or other bodies get destroyed, ex new Pein chick.

^ well, the thing with that is that Jiraiya already revealed that the 6 Pein bodies he fought were ninja he encountered before. There must be a reason for that. I think that Nagato is in some way obsessed with Jiraiya, so even this replacement female body was someone Jiraiya encountered (and probably molested...). So I think Nagato will only have so many bodies laying around that fit the "they are now dead but they did encounter Jiraiya previously" thing. In fact, I'm going to go so far as to say that Nagato is SO obsessed with Jiraiya that, since he can control a dead body once they are outfitted with piercings (though I'm figuring at most 6 at a time), he may very well have recovered Jiraiya's body (if he's really dead) and will be using him to guard his real body once the others are taken care of and Konoha finds Nagato's location. This controlling of Jiraiya, which I know I've stated before, may also be in line with something else I stated quite some time ago at that same time; when he was sinking into the water, the 3 weapons he was stabbed with looked to be getting shorter as he sank; maybe they were going into his body for Nagato's control (ALL speculation on my part obviously).
