I'm pretty sure this belongs in the Hentai forum. Not that I knew it was hentai when I started watching it.

My mate Caleb, when he found out I like anime, told me that he saw one a while ago called "Legend of the Overfiend", and that I should try to get it for him coz he wanted to watch it again. So being the good friend that I am, I went to download it without checking up what it is or anything.

So I download it, and he starts watching it. I figure I may as well watch it too, he said it was very cool. It starts out awesome enough, with this demonic type voice going on about how pitiful humans are etc. I'm thinking it might be in the same vein as Hellsing Ultimate or something.

But, alas, I was wrong. What I instead was watching was over an hour and a half of probably the most disturbing anime I've ever seen. I dont even want to mention the things I saw.

Does anyone have some hydrochloric acid for me to rinse my eyes with?

Not nice. I think a lot of UK anime fans went through a similar experience... I know I did. Pretty nasty stuff, but time has dulled the memories.

I glanced very casually at the title, saw Japanese animation and thought, "Sure, why not." I'd never heard of hentai, and had no idea what I was renting.

I finished it out of morbid curiosity for how bad it could actually get. Much to my dismay, I learned that the answer to that question is "pretty damned bad".

My dad raided my stash looking for something to watch and came upon Urotsukidoji. I bought them knowing full well what it was when I was about 14 and he somehow enjoyed it.

Of course my father got me into adult animation with Heavy Metal at the age of 10 so I guess its just an affinity for such things taken to its logical conclusion.

Basically, Urotsukidoji is, while not the first, the best known tentacle porn, and—more broadly—eroguro series. There is much sex and gory murders-by-tentacle, which would be rather off-putting to most people who were not expecting such.

I saw this thread, and I was all, "Well, I gotta see this thing." I watched the first two videos, and I was all, "Meh...?" Doesn't seem any different than any other hentai I've stumbled across. It was more, "Oh Lord, *Rolls Eyes*" Not really, "IS THERE NO GOD?!!" But, maybe that's just me and my feelings towards hentai. Not saying there's anything wrong wiith hentai.

Although, I remember way back when and learning of that horrible business with DBZ and SM characters, and stuff like that. Now, that's just downright sick!! No, as in a movie—Central Park Media released the Legend of the Overfiend version as an art house film, apparently a popular one.

Was it edited as in "censored", or scenes being cut out?
I believe it was merely edited for time, though I've only seen the OAVs.
