http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1065033/How-far-bounce--The-extraordinary-taunts-sick-ghouls-jeered-teenager-leapt-death.html

A jeering crowd taunted a suicidal teenager as he threatened to jump from the top of a city-centre car park.

In a shocking indictment of modern Britain, youths who gathered in the street below yelled at 17-year-old Shaun Dykes to kill himself over the course of three hours.

One allegedly shouted: 'How far can you bounce?'

Then again, this is the Daily Mail. I don't really trust this story at all. But it does make for good Yellow Journalism.

Wouldn't happen in the United States, that mob would have been owned before they could even think about it.

With a sigh of desperation
He gave in to his depression
He went out to greet the concrete
Where he made his last impression

Your acting like it is the Guardian.

This is sad, my generation never even thought of doing things like this. I blame Thomas the Tank Engine since Mr Rogers Neighborhood is not shown in the UK.

No, I could easily see this happening in the US, especially in Pennsylvania.

The song "Spring" (Rammstein) fits this situation pretty well.
True or not, it's a sucky situation concerning ****tards that I could pretty much see happening anywhere. >=(

I know in Vancouver, whenever there's a bridge jumper, they close the entire bridge to prevent passerbys from doing this... It happened last Canada Day and there was harsh traffic in the Lion's Gate Bridge... Everybody was complaining in joshing that the guy should just jump to end the traffic...

Uh oh! Looks like we need Third Eye Blind for this one! They're the perfect people to get this man to step down from the ledge and not be just another jumper!

It happens in NY all the fing time, they even have signs all over most of the bridges with depression hotline numbers saying "Your life is worth something" and "Don't give up"

I think the signs should say,

"Funerals are expensive...are you sure your family can afford it?"

And

"You know, its REALLY gonna suck when you jump and don't die, and have to live the rest of your life out in a wheelchair"

It should also remind them the attempted Suicide is against the law and that it could cost them a lot of money, also it should explain to them that hundreds of thousands of people cross the bridges everyday, and its VERY selfish to hold up all that traffic because they want attention, so either Jump or don't, no loligagging.

Would you prefer them to turn on a stove in those cramped apartments and intoxicate neighbors with carbon monoxyde?

That's a good one, especially if they end up paralyzed from the neck up. Then next time they wish to attempt it, well, best chances they'll have is if they bite their tongue or program a whellchair that runs on them breathing on a tube off a cliff.

You have no idea what junk the mail spews out, the guardian is like an angel come with nothing but the truth compared to the uk's newspaper who write the the reading age of 7 (NO, I'm serious, that's their target.)

I saw a post just like that one Superplough, but instead of what you have there the text read differently Joker was telling Batman about how he couldn't sleep, Batman asked if he was counting Sheep or something Joker said he tried that It didn't work, then Batman suggests pills....Joker says "Ill Try That" its GREAT but I can't find it anymore.
