Normal time it takes for Backorder?

Hi, first time buyer from Animenation!

I bought some DVDs 3 weeks ago, and asked if anything I bought was on Backorder after 1 week, and was told that 2 titles I bought were on BO. So now it's been 3 weeks and I havn't received a ship notification (cause I requested to Ship Complete)

So how long does a backorder usually take? And how long till it's determined that my backorder may be out of print, or no longer available?

What dvds did you order? Some companies take longer to restock than others, but 3 weeks is a pretty long stretch.

I'd say email AN's customer support, and asks what's up. I believe you can even request to take off the "ship complete" option so your other item will ship.

The two that were said to be on Backorder were
Plastic Little/Burn Up DVD set And
Battle Arena Toshinden.

ADV Films is located in Houston, Texas, so they're still recovering from a pretty strong hurricane. I'm not sure if that's the problem regarding restocking issues, but I'm sure it has some effect.

I would also like to know how long it would take for it to be determined an item is out of print.

I dunno, I've placed orders before that I've had to wait close to a month for. It's mainly because I tend to order all my anime once a month, I remember reading that it's dependent on how many shipments they're getting in and all the other logistical fun stuff.

I guess what I'm getting at is I wouldn't worry until you've waited closer to 6 weeks.

Thanks, I mentioned it to AN, and they said they would ship my order out that I've been waiting on, and then send me the other 2 as they come in. I'm fine with waiting, but I wish they would send you an email when they something you ordered has to be backordered. Will they even send me an email if they find out it's out of print? Or will I have to just guess?

Yeah, they'll let you know if something is out of print via e-mail, well they have in my case at least.

Well, it's been 4 days since they said they would remove my "Ship Complete" and send my other DVDs, but I havn't received a ship notification. Guess they forgot. Oh well, 2 more weeks won't kill me.....:cry:

Well! Nearly 40 days later, and I finally get a ship notification. Only about a week longer before this will be all over...thankfully. :(
