So what do you think about Venezuelan president inviting 2 Russian TU-160 (http://aeroweb.lucia.it/~junap95/bombers/tu160.htm) bombers to his country? Russia hasn't had bombers in S. American since the cold war crisis. Also, Venezuela and Bolivia kicked out their US ambassadors last week.

Bolivia is blaming the US because the rich Eastern provinces do not want their wealth redistributed to the western provenances. The best way to describe it is having the Federal government take over California's budget and redistribute it to Mississippi which of course Californians would not like. Worst case scenario Morales could be toppled by the Military in which case Chavez says he would invade. This would likely draw the ire of Brazil.

Chavez is just trying to get things like food lines and no milk out of the peoples minds and get in Russia's good graces. He did it earlier with his threats to invade Columbia for killing Commie terrorist he is backing. Had he done it he would have gotten his *** whipped severely. Chavez is crazy, I have seen him talk for hours on the TV about how evil capitalist are putting subliminal messages against him in between the frames of cartoons.

Putin is trying to show his teeth, but in reality he only has gums. He does not care about Georgia too much but does not want resource and population rich Ukraine and Poland going into NATO because that would kill his dream of the New Russian Empire with him at the helm.

Not really. I'm curious though.

^ I couldn't even guess what he might've meant. I confess a lack of curiosity on the matter, however.

Chavez is a nutcase, so I don't think Russian bombers in Venezuela mean anything much deeper than "Lol, this'll really rile up the Americans!" Which makes Chavez a sort of real-life international troll, I suppose. I respect that aspect of his actions, but beyond that, he's a kook.

somewhat off topic but..i wonder what it would be like if someone did invade the us...i saw Red Dawn :P but i wonder how many people would just be deer caught in the headlights cause its such an unthinkable concept. I wonder what the gov would want the average joe to do in that scenario. If say, soldiers rolled thru your local town gunnin down people, and the national guard wasnt able to respond right away, I wonder if police would be authorized to fight back. Im sure some crazy rednecks in my part of the woods would :P

I agree chavez is a nutcase, but as someone like me who lives in a 98% hispanic community,i hate chavez in miami every one does, they think he is a major well i won't say the word. But if you have a chance actually watch on youtube the program of Bayly or his peruvian program "El Francotirador" he has been a journalist for many years and gives daily programs on a local tv where 700,000 people watch (yes in miami dade county florida there are 2.5 million people at last count 2006 i know this number has doubled by the countie's own assesment) he has criticized chavez and castro for years and has shown private videos on air and more,i agree with you and bayly, chavez is someone who needs to be removed fast before the situation escalates. So in his show he asks in spanish ("Que fue lo que le hizo el embajador de los estados unidos a chavez, por que lo boto, por un solo problema con el gobierno de bolivia?")
In translation: What did the US ambassador do to chavez, why did he get kicked out because of some problem with the goverment of bolivia?

So he keeps playing the video live feed some venezuela where hugo chavez says in quote "Yankees de mie***, largensue de aqui, que aqui hay un pais honesto y puro"

In tanslation" Piece of S*** Yankees, get out of here, right here is a country who is honest an pure"

I really doubt this has infuriated the latin community in miami, and i wouldn't doubt it all around the nation.

No matter what the situation chavez has with other countries, russia stepping into the picture only adds more oxygen to the fire, this could escalate but into what????

I have been observing the news from venezuela, reporters, and other sources and only demonstrates one thing, chavez needs to be taken out by force one way or another.

Imagine if chavez killed the US ambassador what then?

Hmm this makes me curious, of all the Navy Coast Guard and boundary defenses, what are the chances that the US is suddenly bombed and we had no idea it would happen till it was too late? Since we're concentrating on Iraq or somewhere over seas (as Bush states that if we weren't they would be over here) but since we are over there and pretty much all over the world where are our own defenses on our home soil?

Ok 911 was unexpected but that's exactly what I'm thinking about. It happed unexpected and we weren't prepared for something like that. Are we prepared for anything els to come?

I can't picture total war here in the US. Much less coming from Venezuela. We'd get one of our stooges in Latin America to deal with. Then when Chavez gets shot we'll just be like "He's a dictator, he can deal with it" "Yeah motherf***er".

Geez, I am beginning to wander if the world isn't beginning to head towards another World War. If you think about it, its going to happen again one day. With all the fighting over oil, with that fighting between Russia and Georgia going on and how Bush was already stepping in and saying to Russia their military actions and so on needed to stop, our military fighting in a current war trying to restore peace and hunt down terrorists, etc. I sometimes think our President gets our country involved into too many of the other countries' business. It might be possible because of our president's actions that he is going to p*** off enough people that we will end up in more war than we can handle. Our allies are slowly or have already pulled their troops out of Iraq and so on. I think our troops should have been pulled out of there a long time ago. If the Iraqis don't want our help and live their lives the way they want, then pull our troops out and heck with them. Stop wasting tax payers money and our resources and bring the troops home.

With those 2 bombers in Venezuela, I don't think its a big threat though. It is probably just a way to get things all riled up and make people panic. That way, the Venezuelan President will get what he wants. I do gotta say that I think our president won't give in that easily.

What I meant was that with the crap that governments and everything do down there, and what those countries are like, it's kinda a good explanation why so many people down there want to come to this country.

But they still should get proper visas.

Hrmmm.. I've been so busy these days I haven't been watching the mexican news lately (American newshows are only focusing on the hurricanes and on the US elections, world events don't matter much unless it's the Iraq war).

Never liked Chavez and think he's a bufoon and he's screwing what little is left of the Venezuelan economy. The good news is that some people in Venezuela woke up and have made it legally impossible for Chavez to be reelected for a third term. In 2011 (I think, I'm not fully familiar with how long Venezuelan presidency terms go), Chavez is out legally for good. His only chance to "stay" in power without overthrowing the government with his chronnies is if he puts a puppet dude as a candidate for the next president the way Russia is being handelled now.

And America thought the 2006 mexican elections weren't important, haha. We were so close to having a looney like Chavez as president right below the border, imagine how tense things would be now if that had happened!

Hahaha, someone actually remembers the newspaper scan I posted about Encinas comparing the yearly Mexico City floods to the wrath of Tlaloc??? Hahaha

Encinas is an idiot. The local PRD party elections fraud: total win. Gotta love mexican politics. I should start paying that political party money for all of the entertainment they give me.

No, I'm still alive. Gotten loonier because of the subjects have made me so (I'll forever be terrified of the Red Cross for the rest of my life, don't ask why  ).
