kara no kyoukai is an OVA/several part movie created by TYPE-MOON as kind of a prequel, kind of an "alternate story in the same universe" type thing for Tsukihime. It started coming out in limited edition DVDs in Japan and each volume came with a full soundtrack (score!). The soundtracks are composed by Yuki Kajiura, one of my favorite composers. She did Noir, .hack, Madlax, Mai-hime, and some other great soundtracks. When I was watching the first episode the soundtrack blew me away, and I didn't know who composed it at that point. When I found out I wasn't really surprised haha.

Anyway I managed to get my hands on the first 3 OSTs (yes torrents since I can't afford $60 per episode for Kara no kyoukai LEs) and they're fantastic. Some of the best OSTs i've heard in a while.

I really hope this series comes over here in the same fashion with the OSTs included. I'd buy them in a heartbeat for a reasonable price ($40 or less).

Yes, the music was nice. It fits in fairly well with the anime. I'm sure they'll come out with OSTs once the series/OVAs are over.

To be honest its one of my least favorites of Yuki Kajiura. I guess I just prefer her more loud & crazy songs than her calm & rather boring songs IMO. Still good though.
I thought Tsukihime's music was much better.

Yeah, I found these songs to be a little slower. On the whole, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of action in the OVA's so far, but I'm fine with it. I just wish the release schedule was a bit faster.
