yea I know I take horrible pics but meh, this is my favorite cosplay so far because it did the best on it and its completely made from scratch =D by me :P
first things first I started on the easier stuff that way that if I messed up on some 'a the harder stuff then I wouldn't have to worry about redoing the harder stuff then making the easier stuff again, so yea I started on the arm bracer things and they actually took more time to make then it appears I had to make 4 of them 2 for the arms and 2 for the feet and boots. I managed to use a different fabric for the bracers then I did for everything else but thats only on the gold part. Those golds on the bracers sure made my sewing machine cry though >< it was a horrible fabric to sew wit but it actually came out someone decent.
Gloves gloves glove lemme tell ya they aren't as hard to make from scratch as you think what I did was I just traced my hand on some black fabric and sewed the 2 pieces together :P I did that for the other white part that goes over it as well. the white also has the gold going over it I wish I coulda took more pics >< but meh
Since I used that same velvety looking red I made the shirt next which was easy because it was like making a tube so all I really needed to do measure my chest and all and it was stretchy so that was also a plus /no1 the gold that went around it wasn't stretchy though so I had to make it a little looser that way it wouldn't be to tight because the first time I did it it was too tight and I had to remake it because I put the thing on and couldn't breath wit it on >< Now the front sash could have been done 1 of 2 different ways. Sew the sash to tube like I did or I could have gotten the thing I was gonna use for a belt a different one and sewed it to that but then it would look busted so I took the easier approach wit the tube/sash sewing instead. Plus I had did something similar with my munak cosplay but thats another story. Only thing on this sash is that I only needed to make one in the front instead of one in the back and another in the front /heh
Now the pants were interesting to make because I had never made pants from scratch before. I only got enough black that I would need to make but not extra if I were to mess up because I didn't know how much black I would need for my big butt but meh -.- I actually messed up making the pants because I didn't sew it right and the part where the crotch is well yea I messed up there and its almost a matter of knowing your own body type because I know I have a big butt and I would have to make modifications to the pants like that but it was my first time making pants from scratch in a really long time(I made pants hand sewed when I was 12 and back then I didn't even know how to make them right but I sold them for like $4 or something) but meh that doesn't count because I barely knew how do to it and I still coulda did it better but give credit to where credit is due considering I didn't even use a pattern. I just looked at the way some of my own pants are stitched and that was my cheap idea or looking at a "pattern" but other then that it was nothing. Now the bottom was pretty tough because of the gold that goes up and around and all that it got kinda complicated >< but it wasn't that hard it was just hard to sew around it like that but I managed to get it so that was good /no1
now wit all that done I finally got to make the over coat which was the more interesting item to make because well I had to make a hood on it so yea and unlike most people that just make the thing go straight down I made it go around the chest like its supposed to. Alot of people make the champ cosplay look really busted when they don't take that part into consideration and that part is one 'a the more noticable parts too so yea but mine isn't the most acurate either but I did mine to the most acurate I can so thats good. I made sure to get 3 yards of white fabric for this one because it had to be long but I was running on a gold fabric shortage so luckly the fabric store had the last of that gold that I needed and I was able to finish making it it just got short when I put it on the white overcoat but I made it look less noticable by putting it near the part where I would have the belt thing, so that ended up coming to my advantage as well. Then the little pin was something that mom let me borrow at the time luckly she did because it went really well with the cosplay and I wouldn't have used anything else. And the belt I bet EVERYONE wants to know about :O well actually its like one of those things that you use for towals and draperies for decoration and stuff, like this kinda thing.

well because I was just so "styling" when I was in school I used ta wear them either like necklaces or like belts like the one I had one and it was epic because noone could hang wit that epicness but yea thats the story behind the belt. I just used a hair tie thing to tie the belt together because I didn't feel like being bothered wit it but oh well the necklace has nothing to do wit anything I just bought it and it was something I've been looking for for a long time so yea. The boots actually went well wit the outfit and I made the foot bracers custom to those boots only so meh but they're pretty good.
that pretty much concludes the making of my champ cosplay and I hope more that I make in the future look better as well /no1
