So I just got back from this in NYC...
It was really cool. As imagined it was PACKED, but it was quite an experiance. Just wanted to know if any of you NY'ers or baseball fans were there?

Wait.. what? It's not the all star break yet.

Sure it is. The Home Run Derby is tomorrow and the All Star Game is Tuesday. Or wednesday...

Yeah, the Mets just got done playing, I guess it's official now. But what did you do there today?

Oh there were tons to do. Aside from the inumerable PS3's, Wii's, and 360s with baseball games, there were batting cages, virtual hitting/pitching, real fielding....lots of food, tons of vendors (plenty with free stuff too). There were things where you could do interviews where they edit in an anouncer and you get iterviewed and you can get the tape. There were 'whats your call' booths where you can look at historic plays and giove your call. There was a similar thing where you sat and played anouncer-giving your play by play of a historic clip.
There was trivia booths, jeapordy type games, tons of picture oppertunitys.
There were trophys and paintings, helmets, bats, etc.
There were plenty of baseball cards and memorobilia...
It was a lot bigger and better than expected. I got tickets free because my uncle was chosen to work there. He's a diehard Yankee fan, and he loved it a lot, so that was good.

Nice sounds like fun. Are you going to the Homerun Derby or anything else?

Hamilton was awesome. It's too bad he didn't win it though, I was really pulling for him after the show he put on in the first.

Usually, the one that puts on a show in the first round never wins it. But damn, Josh Hamilton. Just damn.

Josh Hamilton was droppin' ****. There is just no better way to say it. It doesn't really matter that he lost in my opinion, he set a single round record, and got 2nd place for most homeruns.

Ha, that was a funny analogy the anouncer used when the other guy won. He was like "Josh Hamilton bought the tux, rented the limousine, and [enter winner's name] got to kiss the girl on the doorstep."
I'm ashamed to say I can't even remember hte winner's name, yet I remember Josh Hamilton.

Yeah, Josh Hamilton was a strait up beast last night.
Haro!

I missed it because I had to hang out with a friend. Let us just say it was totally worth missing the fanfest. But yeah I did want to go.

I'll watch the Allstar Game, After looking at the roster I've decided to name the American league team Red Sox 2. There are 7 Boston players on the team, so I think we all know who will win...Red Sox 2 :P

Wow, what a game. 12 innings! That one was one of the best I've seen.

I had no idea they already played it! I feel like a loser, no wait, Red Sox 2 won so I'm good.

15 innings and Michael Young saves the AL again.

On a somewhat related topic, it's sad that Yankee Stadium is getting demolished. After the rich history behind it, shouldn't it be a landmark?

I say good riddance to the place. Its brining down New York, and America as a whole. And you know what else, maybe they shouldn't rebuild it. Make a nice park or vacant lot for the hobos to sleep in at night. I'm sure they'd appreciate it.

Stop posting. Also, I like how the Mets(a non-winning team) get a new stadium. KazTom will replace the new Shea stadium with it's red oak tree might.

Not necessarily. In terms of massive sports fan craziness, I've figured out something:
English soccer fans > Philly Eagles fans > Red Sox fans.

That's completely ***-nine. (mispell intended)
How iss it bringing down NY? And its in no way bringing down the country. Like honestly, that's the stupidest thingI've heard all day.
I'm interested to see it go. I mean, I'm very sad. Their my favorite team and I love the stadium. What I'm interested is seeing if any looting will take place like it did in the 70's.

Actually I found out awhile ago that they're auctioning off practically every piece of the stadium.

Oh, you have no idea. Boston is also known for massive bandwagoning at the right time(i.e. Celtics).

Orly. I knew they were auctioning quite a bit, didn't know everything was going. I saw some of the prices in RS. 400 bucks for a urinal. 100 for a seat. 70 for a garbage can.
I'm sure there'll be a few reported cases of looting though. I hear security es muy tight though.

3/4s of the people you saw on TV during the championship series were not Celtics fans before that.
