I was actually hoping they would have re-made the FMA anime from the beginning but that followed the Manga story, instead of a sequel.

I can only hope that this will be a "FMA Ultimate" like they did with Hellsing. I really fear what they would try to think up as far as continuance from Conquerer of Shamballa. I remember them saying there were groups looking into witchcraft, and since Ed's arm is no longer made of just metal, i guess the new title would be Fullprosthetic Warlock

I'm sure they could somehow have them open up another hole back across the gate. Another group of people going after the philosopher's stone, and *gasp*, new homunculi. But at that point, would anyone really care?

The original series already gave someone at Bones cancer (and killed him), theres no need to spread the disease.

What was the logic behind Ed losing his metal arm in our world. Naturally I don't remember, I try to block out that ****** anime as much as possible.

I really do respect your opinion, but I don't get it...
What is so bad with a sequal? The anime remains one of my top favs, besides being one of the world's top favs...
Can you tell me the major diffrence between the series and the manga?

Well, I feel silly.

I'm hoping for sequel to the film. But since you can't make much of a plot involving no alchemy and a bomb, I have a feeling it's going to be a re-make OR a flashback of adventures before their trip to Lior.

^I'll have a crack with your question, though it's probably not a good answer.

A plot device to show how he'd cope without the advancements in prosphetics?

Hang on, when did he lose his arm?

BAWW manga's better then anime, BAWW subs are better then dubs, BAWW [insert generic otaku complaint here. I dunno, 2D girls vs. 3D girls maybe].

The manga and the anime split off around when Hughes died. Since you're familliar with the anime, I'll just go into some of the specific differences in the manga:

*There are different homunculi, and some of their names are switched around.
*The leader of the homunculi appears to look exactly the same as Hoenheim.
*Hoenheim is the philosopher's stone, not Alphonse.
*There are some extra secondary characters, such as Ling.
*The plan of the homunculi is essentially the same as in the anime, to create a philosopher's stone. However, instead of using a city to transmute, they plan on transmuting the entire nation.
*Dr. Marco and Grumman play much larger roles.

And that's only the tip of the iceburg. Comparing the anime and the manga is like comparing spaghetti and lasagna. While they each have the same components, they take their approaches completely different. That's why I think it's silly to say that one is inferior to the other, since in reality they are two completely different beasts.

This isn't comparing lasagna to spaghetti. Those are two completely different things. Fullmetal Alchemist is Fullmetal Alchemist, lasagna is lasagna and spaghetti is spaghetti. If someone wanted to change the recipe because they thought it would be better and it ended up sucking. Then they damn well are going to be called out on it.

Is it good news or bad? I guess that depends on whether this is going to rock or suck. Dunno.

I wonder where they are going to go story-wise with a sequel.

What happened in the movie again? I can't remember. I'm not making a snide comment. I really can't remember. I know I watched it. I can't remember a thing about it except for a sequence at the very beginning that was (iirc) some story Edward was telling.Did it have an alchemy nuke in it? If I don't remember if I am right or not is this really a spoiler?

What?

People have thier own opinions, so some people are going to like one more than the other.

Try again.
