I've talked with girls around here -- and for the most part, it is pretty much exactly like what that article described. These girls have no one, so they make someone who has to love them. Sure, they aren't retarded enough to form a club (do they have to pay membership fees, I wonder? One baby a year or something?), but yes. Pretty much exactly that.

I live about a hour from Gloucester and go there every year, just for the simple beach. I'm not particularly surprised by the baby boom, since there really isn't anything for a teenager to do around those parts. And yes, parents really need to beat their kids more often.
