View Full Version : I just can't figure this out...

So, if you haven't heard, there have been some severed feet showing up on the western shores of Canada. Today I saw the news report about the sixth foot found washed up near Vancouver. This seriously is a "wtf?!" moment. People keep finding severed feet! There have been 5 right feet and 1 left foot and they were all in shoes.
Any theories? A twisted serial killer with a bizarre trademark? A new symbiotic relationship between ocean dwelling feet and shoes?

The Ocean is a good place to dump your bodies. Probably some cannibal serial killer without a foot fetish. He eats everything but the feet, then discards of them in the water.

This is pretty creepy. I hope the can give some answers or else I'd hate to live in that area.

Hmm, sounds kind of interesting. Has it just started happening or is this over the period of a few years?

And there are no missing people, or at least, people complaining of their feet going missing?
"I was going for a walk on the beach when all of a sudden my right foot disappeared. It was quite embarrassing, I didn't want to tell anyone."

Some of the models of shoes these folks have been wearing haven't been in production for a few years apparently.
Some folks reckon they're from the tsunami victims who got washed out to sea, and the foot being one of the most resilient parts of the body as well as being protected by the shoe the rest of their body just got torn apart over time just leaving the feet.
Also have to think about why these feet have no ankles, and what a pain it would be for someone to cut off the feet below the ankle and then put it in a sock then a shoe (rather than just cutting them off at the ankle while still in the shoe).

Wow. I don't even know where to begin with that one. That is just . . .odd.

When I first came into this thread, I thought that the feet were "fresh", i.e. not skeleton feet in sportswear.
One report mentioned that the foot they found seemed "sawn off", with bones sticking out of the shoe, I would think that it makes it sound less like part of an otherwise-decomposed-into-nothing corpse washing up... and more like the feet were removed deliberately... but what do I know about dead bodies? Not much! What do I know about the effect of sea water around the western shores of Canada on dead bodies? Nothing!
One theory I read about it being the remains of a local aircraft tragedy from a few years previously... that seemed the most plausible of the theories I saw. It would explain why they were wearing footwear, and explained the locality.
Some of the models of shoes these folks have been wearing haven't been in production for a few years apparently.
Hey, they might not have been wearing brand new shoes, it's not necessarily an indication of how old these feet are... there's no shame in dying in old shoes...

It's an interesting situation to say the least, sadly, if the cause is ever determined, it won't live up to where the imagination wants to go.

What sucks is finding an old shoe and realizing THERE'S A FOOT STILL IN IT!!!
What's creepy is that it started with just right foot. The left one is the only one to break the patern.

I'm guessing it's not from that plane crash since they've already found more feet than there were people unacounted for (unless sevral of them had two right feet...)

Maybe there's actually a bunch of people stuck on some strange island near Canada and frostbite lopped off their feet, and said people are building a complex society of feetless people! Maybe they have discovered the cure to cancer! Maybe they hold their own feetless olympics! You should never underestimate the power of feetless people.

My best friend lives in New West, I should tell him to hide his feet.
