In their infinite wisdom, the members of the IAU have decided that we need more vocabulary.

Introducing the plutoids, basically any dwarf planet that lies outside of the main planetary disc, including Pluto and Eris.

The other type (those inside teh disc such as Ceres) has yet to be given a name.

Does Pluto change status as a non-plutoid during the period when it's orbit is closer to the sun than Neptune?

Yeah, I still love how Pluto was taken out of planetary status because it doesn't sweep materials out of it's orbit while Neptune remains a planet even though it doesn't sweep Pluto out of it's orbit.

They're really winning in my book.
