A long time ago, Mixx/TokyoPop was putting out Sailor Moon....
They came in an edition that resembles X-Men Comics instead of the whole Graphic Novel set up...
-_-;
What would these books be called?
Vampire Princess Miyu and Ah My Goddess also came out in this format.

You mean "comic books"?
Some companies still do that, or at least have done it int he past year or so, just rarely and you only see them at comic shops

Well...Yea...
They are Comic Books, Now I feel rather silly but then... Whenever a person refers to anything "Manga" as a "Comic Book" people glare spikes into you.
Thought maybe the single issues could have some sort of special name that I'd never heard of.
Forgot I had the books until a recent expedition under my bed. Now I'm thinking of finishing the collection, If it doesn't cost a fortune.

Heh. Most of the "Comic Book" people themselves are IMHO still out on a definitive term for the generic stapled 32 page format. Apart from the generic "comic book" there are several other popular terms like "single issues" / "singles" to set them apart from trade-paperback collections and graphic-novels , "floppies" to describe how they feel, and "pamphlets" (no idea where that last connection comes from).
I like our German term, "Hefte", better, which just concentrates on them being "stapled". Descriptive and exact.
Edit: @Gasaraki:
AFAIK no US companies currently produce licensed manga in comic book format anymore. The last surviving series, "Blade of the Immortal" from Dark Horse, was switched to GN-only last fall (though the collection of those last issues (http://www.darkhorse.com/profile/profile.php?sku=15-255) will come out only later this month and the GN-only continuation is not yet solicited). Most others made the switch years ago.

They are indeed comics. There were also bigger versions that were much like today's Shonen Jump and Shojo Beat. Mixxzine had Sailor Moon, Parasyte, and Magic Knight Rayearth to name a few. Animerica Extra had X/1999, Steam Detectives, and Marionette Generation. And even before that Manga Vision had older Viz titles.

Yeah I figured almost everyone has stopped by now. I do recall seeing some of those BotI issues before.

Thanks for all the replies. Must say that I find the "Comic" style nice in ways, You get a lot of pretty cover art for the series you're collecting.
They do tend to damage easier then the normal books, curving is a little annoying. Guess that's what those plastic bags with boards are for. :teehee:
Sadly, The comic store that they were bought from is long gone. Google has some so-so prices for them.
Now I am feeling old. *snickers*
