How many of you do this? I ordered from Japan as my usual sources didn't have it. I see there's a thread about Region 2 DVDs so others must be doing it. I went on a popular site and ordered Meiko Nakahara's (http://www.bekkoame.ne.jp/i/atamidaido/kaku_labo_mn.htm) Twin Best album. She's done anime including Kimagure Orange Road. Signing up wasn't easy--that page was in japanese. The rest of the site offers english text. My order was fast. I ordered over the weekend. It was shipped out tuesday and is due to arrive today! So far, my experience has been positive and I'll be more likely to order again since I already have an account. In the meantime, I've been all giddy tracking my package:

Until someone orders an actual catgirl maid, I will not be impressed.

...

If you do happen to order a catgirl maid, then... you know... I wouldn't be averse in a PM. Maybe a link to the site you ordered from.... nothing much... Do you get to pick the catgirl? Do they have a Natsuki in stock? Not that it has to be Natsuki, but if they have her in stock, I'd be will... I mean, a collector would be willing to pay double. Most likely. Or so I guess. Haha. 'Cause I only know what I'm told about it. By others. -_-; Yeah.

*ahem*

You're quite an organized individual eh?

Don't get too caught up in the authenticity thing though. Packages from Japan are neat, but sometimes it's better on your wallet to just "give in to the Man."

I order things from Japan quite often, mostly CDs and videogames, sometimes models or figures.

I sometimes also order Japanese goods through large (legit) HK shops as the service and shipping are often better and more economical than Japan. Direct from Japan is the best way to go for 2nd hand goods, and 1st-hand pre-order bonuses, though.

I've ordered dozens of things from Japan, tho it's usually a lot more expensive than ordering things from a big import site that gets stuff from Japan first.

One thing I tried and miserably failed to do was order stuff from the Japanese RosenQueen store (the Nippon Ichi Software official store). If you've ever been on that site, they have tons of collectibles and such for Disgaea and other NIS games. I placed an order with a 3rd party company that supposedly orders the stuff from the Japanese website (and has it shipped to a Japanese address), then reships it to America. The 3rd party company ended up taking $150 of my money and never placed the order with the NIS store. After battling with them for about 8 months (not even exhaggerating), I finally got a refund.

If they're that bad, you ought to name-and-shame them, so no-one else falls for their tricks.

I did, a while back. I think I posted a thread about them maybe 2 years ago explaining in detail how bad they were. I honestly can't remember the name of the place nowadays, tho I'm sure I would if I ever saw it again.
