View Full Version : Final Villain?

Who do you think the "Last boss" of one piece is going to be?
The way things are going now, it could well be Blackbeard (Which I hope is not the case, because I don 't really like him), but I also have suspicions of it being Whitebeard or Shanks. I can imagine something like: Luffy and Shanks meet, Shanks starts atacking Luffy, at first Luffy doesn't know why but after 50 chapters he wins, and it is revealed that Shanks was just doing it to test him. He'd probably say something like: "You were right, you have surpassed me"
Or there could be a completely new villain on par with the gold roger (Aizen style!) out to get One piece, and they have a final showdown in front Of the treasure...
What do you think?

Yet alone the end!
Maybe it will be Jolly Rodger's Ghost.

I would be really disappointed if either Blackbeard or Whitebeard ended up being Luffy's last adversary. I'm hoping for an unknown villain to come out of nowhere and threaten the very existence of pirates as we (or they) know it leading Luffy to stand up for everyone else who is not able to stand up for themselves against the crazy new guy.
So Luffy standing up for pirates everywhere to protect the legacy of piracy is what I hope to see as a fitting climax... Only after Luffy has beaten Ao Kiji, Shanks and Whitebeard.

But I'm also thinking; isn't Oda running out of villians for Luffy? I mean, he's already on par with the 7 gods (Not the correct term I know, but it's easier to type), and maybe excluding Whitebeard and Shanks, they might as well include him in the 4 powers, he's that strong. We still have to find out Shanks and Whitebeards bounties, might give us an idea of how far ahead they are.

Well we know for one that Shanks must be pretty damn powerful. When they show him meeting Whitebeard, I believe a bunch of just regular guys in Whitebeard's crew actually pass out from the pressure that Shanks was putting out. Whitebeard is probably on par with Shanks.

Or Dragonball. Since the whole thing with feeling the person's ki and the amount of power they're putting out from their body. It's actually a fact that Oda loved Dragonball when he was growing up and looked up to Akira Toriyama.

^ DB was the first shonen to really make a breakthrough and I believe still holds the record for most bought manga in Japan (could be wrong so I don't want nobody unecessarily researching this and showing me figures I don't care too much about).
So... Greatness. Sets a blueprint for everyone else to try and follow and add their own tweaks and let's face it, most shonen follow Akira Toriyama's blueprint.

Hahah...pretty sure he won't run out of ideas as long as he's loved by the fans or that he's not bored of it. Japanese people are just creative, I'm sure they'll come up with something weird if ideas are coming short.

Dragon's not a pirate, he's a revolutionary. Robin/Garp put a lot of emphasis that they're not the same.
As for the final "boss", I'm betting it'll be Roger's ghost, Blackbeard, or Shanks. Roger's Ghost and Blackbeard for obvious reasons and Shanks.... well, maybe just to see if Luffy's worthy of having One Piece. Shanks WAS on Roger's crew, he'd probably feel a bit of obligation to his old captain.

How do we know that? I don't remember anything saying that Whitebeard was stronger than Dragon. If anything, the way bounties are used in One Piece are a lot like how power levels were used in Dragonball Z up until the end of the Freeza saga. I mean the weaker pirates have low bounties while the really strong ones are the ones with really high bounties. Not too surprising since Dragonball influenced Oda a lot and you can see it in One Piece. The man admires Toriyama.

^ I can see why you would draw the reference but I have to say I think you're wrong. Oda clearly states in his interviews that bounties in One Piece reflect a person's threat to the government not their strength. And that's reasonable since in the series the whole crew receives large bounties after taking down CP9 - supposedly the government's strongest spies. Luffy mostly only gets more mature after defeating his enemies, he's always been a good fighter.
Also I don't think One Piece makes that many references to Toriyama, One Piece only has a handul of references to DB (according to my memory anyway).

Really Dragon's gotta be amazingly strong. Just look at him! Hes Luffy's father! I meant Revolutionary but what else could he be doing that makes him such a threat? Luffy and crew took down CP9 and a World Government base and they still have a lesser bounty than Dragon.

2) I'm not gonna remember every little detail when I'm watching it. When do they mention this? Because I honestly don't remember it. How about just telling me instead of telling me how I don't do this or should have a better memory. Everyone's not perfect ya know?

Have you all forgotten the supreme admiral? I mean, he's higher ranked than Aojako (sp?) in the organisation, which implies one of two things. Either he's madly strong, or an excellcent stratagist and still pretty strong. About the bounty's, I believe Aojiko summed it up nicely when he said how Nico Robin's reflects not only her strength (not using it terms of physical strength alone here) and her overall threat to the world Government by being able to read poligraphs and find out what happened in the void century.
As for Monkey D. dragon, he is clearly strong, as shown by the fact he has taken over several countries. But it is in a more stuptle way that he is a threat to the world government. Think what BW did in Alabasta. They used a very simple method; arousing the people into rebellion. If this happened across the globe, the world government would be fragmated by having to contain thousands of rebels, weakening them while the main force attacked key naval bases. That is why he so wanted. At this point in time, he is the biggest threat to the WG, including the 4 yonkou since they are held in an uneasy balance by the WG and the 7 warlords.
I personally think that it will be the head admiral, in this kind of situation.
after the Whitebeard's pirates are narrowly defeated, Shank's launches a counter attack on the weakened forces. The result is both the marines and Shank's pirates are almost completely destroyed, and Shank's has a dramatic last stand against the admiral's on the second last island of the grand line. when Luffy arrives, the supreme admiral is standing over shank's dying body. Enraged Luffy does battle, releasing gear 4th, if that is not yet shown. At the end, Luffy walks to Shank's body and returns the hat.

It's spelt Ao-Kiji mate.

Yeah, if he decides to endanger the crew at any point then he will become first priority for Luffy. Otherwise they're not gonna waste time with him as the crew has unfinished business elsewhere.
Enraged Luffy does battle, releasing gear 4th, if that is not yet shown.
The gears in One Piece don't quite work the same as turning Super Saiyan in DBZ. While both result in significant power increases, the science involved vary considerably. Becoming Super Saiyan in DBZ meant tapping into a hidden power inside of you and magically transforming yourself into something else, whereas Luffy's gears can be scientifically explained since he is pumping blood around his body at great speed to create heat and rubber can be moved much faster when heated. So for that reason I don't see what a Gear 4th could be (from a scientific standpoint).
Anyone with good scientific knowledge correct me if I'm wrong.

As Heartfout told me, remember when gear 2 was introduced? Did you expect that? could you have thought of it yourself? and then gear 3, "What could be stronger than gear 2- oh yeah that". When/if he does acheive gear 4, it'll probably be something no-one expected, completely out of the blue, but makes perfect sense.

No. That was explained in the CP9 arc, when it is explained that consuming more than one devil fruit causes instant death.

That was just me doing some dramatic narrative. I have no idea if that will happen. But since the head admiral is, you know, the opposite to the pirate king, it would be unlikely that he would let another one rise and not do anything about it.

I believe the final boss will be Blackbeard. I have never read the Manga, so maybe Blackbeard has been defeated already, but I just don't see Luffy fighting Whitebeard.
Whitebeard is from the oldschool and probably shares the same values as Luffy does. Blackbeard seems to fit the description of most of Luffy's enemies.

Can't believe this hasn't been mentioned, but my bet is on Doc. Vegapunk. We have yet to see more than his name.
Blackbeard is powerful, but he doesn't strike me as "final boss" material. He'll be a villian down the road for sure, but he won't be the crew's biggest enemy.
Anyway, there's tons of characters and portions of the world unaccounted for. It's entirely possible the ultimate villain has yet to make an appearance.

I dunno. Oda gave Blackbeard the power To absorb the powers other Devil Fruits, or at least that's how it appears. He wouldn't let an ability like that go to waste, I'm sure. At least, not unless he had something fantastic planned (and knowing Oda that's a definate possibility.)
The other reason I say Blackbeard is because he's a lot like Luffy in many ways. He carries the "Will of D" and the two have several tendencies in common. Blackbeard's a lot like Luffy's "negative" in that aspect.
Which sets him up nicely as a final villain. The fact that fans hate him is a bit of a bonus, in my eyes.

I'm upset that
Blackbeard gave up his position as a Warlord. It could have Been so epic. The WG/Marines win the war, Blackbeard reaches Raftel and becomes Pirate King, Warlord, and De facto (if not offical) Head of the Marines and World goverment and general. this could happen about halfway through the New World. The organised Choas of Blackbeards reign could then really start to take effect, The seemingly Omnipotent PK have surpassed even Gol d Roger, Stiffling the Pirate era and turning the World goverment from a peace-keeping yet corrupt and more powerful version of the UN into an all controlling (SUPER-corrupt, obv) Dictatorship, not the type which puts the world into slave labour, but the type which controls every part of your life and if you don't like it, or don't agree, you get killed or worse instantly. All the less crazy or corrupt marines would be phrased out. That would be the Ultimate villian for Luffy IMO, as him and the Supernovas he has been fighting with and contending against since the Redline now have to form reluctent alliences for survival. Luffy could then become the third pirate King (Maybe finding the true treasure that Blackbird over looked or something?) Defeat the now even more sinister World Goverment and sorta save the world all at once. Then as a resolution, a new, better World goverment is formed after the secretes of the originals formation and the Void Century are revealed, Led by Coby. This goverment is just, unintrusive, and uncorrupt, policing only the truly wicked pirates. The world enters the peaceful era where Pirates and citizens can, for the most part, live side by side. Obv. there are still fights, but Pirate King Luffy and his Nakama can enjoy new adventures, prehaps even beyond raftel, in peace. Ah, what a nice ending.
...soz, I got carried away there. and theres only really one spoiler anyways. Not even that big.
