I have to say, even though I don't necessarily care for the game that much, I thought Chrono Cross had the best soundtrack I've heard in a Video Game to date. I still have the whole OST on my MP3 player.

That reminds me, Star Ocean: The Second Story had an incredibly good soundtrack. I think some of the Ar Tonelico music might have been inspired by it, cause there are some similar sounding songs. "Theme of Rena" is such an epic song.

Ar Tonelico is a pretty great game. The basic idea is there's a girl whose song is like magic. During battles, you have to protect the girl while she sings certain songs that either attack the enemy or help the allies. Aside from the battle system, which is pretty unique, the game also has a ton of character development, at least for the girls who sing songs. You get to go inside their minds and find out things about their past, their fears, etc.

Star Ocean II was my favorite RPG for a little while until I replayed Suikoden II. The story was great, the character development was great, and i thought the battle system was really neat as well (except for the annoying voice acting). It recently was remade (sort of) for the PSP where they added some voice acting and little portraits of the characters, but I don't think we'll get that in the US.

This post reminded me of the awesomeness that was.... the Shogo: Mobile Armor Division menu music. Unfortunately I can't find the song on youtube, tho I do have the mp3 of it.

Yeah the RE save room music was greatness. I loved it so much because it meant you were perfectly safe for at least that room. A lot of survival horror games like to do away with the idea of a safe room, but I think it's quite nice to have. Fatal Frame II had one of the freakiest dern save rooms right near the beginning of the game. The latern was in this little room with some kimono outfits hanging on stands, and a wooden slat wall behind it that you could see ghosts through. Bah i'm getting freaked out just thinking of that room.

Pretty much all the save room music in the Resident Evil franchise has been great, though funny enough that even though RE0 has the most tracks I like to listen to, it has my least favorite save music. I'd have to say that RE1 Remake and Code Veronica have my favorite save theme songs.

I think the worst I remember when playing it is I could hear Nemesis screaming right outside of when I was in a save room. As soon as I left the room, he was chasing me and I was running away like hell. :lol:

I'm a huge fan of SNK related music, especially from Samurai Shodown and the King of Fighters series pre-1999. I also enjoy listening to game music from RPG series including Lunar, Grandia, Final Fantasy, and Chrono Trigger. I own soundtracks of all these series. ^_^
